Very satisfied, great sound and great value
AN UPDATE: I liked this tiny amplifier so much that I bought a second one for my office computer. Previously, my main computer used a Lepai LP-2020A+ driving a set of decent bookshelf speakers, and my office computer used a set of cheap USB active speakers. Later I bought the first Fosi to replace the Lepai on my main computer system, and it worked out beautifully (see the ORIGINAL REVIEW below). I decided I would use the Lepai on my office computer, and for that, I bought a set of Polk Audio T15, which are probably the cheapest slightly "serious" bookshelf speakers but should be far better than those cheap USB speakers. But within minutes of setting up the system, I felt terrible. It's not that the Lepai LP-2020A+ with the Polk Audio sounded worse than the cheap USB speakers. On the contrary, they were noticeably better. The trouble was that I started to compare the office sound with my main computer system sound, and I just couldn't help it. This is what happens when you get into a better system. It spoils you. On the office system with Lepai, everything sounded so hollow and distorted, especially the vocals and human voice recordings (not singing), which was so bad that I couldn't stand. It was painful. At first I thought it might be the Polk Audio T15s, but then I suspected it was something else, including the built-in line output, etc. Speculating all kinds of diagnostic possibilities was driving me crazy. Finally, I just gave in and bought a second Fosi, with a good DAC, planning to return the Polk Audio T15s for something better as well. Well, the Fosi and DAC came in, and I connected them to the computer and the Polk Audio T15s. What an improvement! Clearly, the Polk Audio T15s are fine (although not great). The culprit was the Lepai LP-2020A+ amplifier, as the Fosi made a huge difference. The following is the original review I wrote after about the first Fosi: ORIGINAL REVIEW: Unbelievable value for a small desktop setup or computer sound system. Everything is perfect. The sound, the functions, the build quality, and the appearance. This replaced my seven-year-old Lepai LP-2020A+, which actually had quite good sound on my computer sound system as well, but left me wanting a bit more. One of the obvious issues with Lepai was the highly noticeable noise floor when the volume is turned past 50%. Although I seldom turn the volume past 50%, the limitation is bothersome. After seeing some reviews on the TI TPA3116D2 chip, I decided to upgrade, to just give me a bit more peace of mind. And I am very satisfied. The Fosi sounds great. To be honest, I did not do a side-by-side comparison with the Lepai, but I am pretty sure Fosi delivers cleaner and fuller sound. The noise floor is much lower. It is quite low even if you turn the volume all the way up to the maximum. On my desktop speakers, I can hear no noise when the volume is below 30%. Once it passes the 30% level, the noise floor steps up abruptly, but strangely enough, it stays quite flat after that and does not further increase too much even if you turn the volume all the way to 100%. Even at the maximum level, the noise is only slightly noticeable when I sit about five feet away from the speakers. This is a near-field environment, and I'm fairly picky about the noise, but still, this is completely manageable. A day-and-night difference compared to Lepai LP-2020A+. Fosi comes with a rather large power supply, which may seem unnecessarily large, but is necessary for its 50W x2 power rating. When it comes to power, you simply don't have any way to cheat. For example, having a 30 W power supply for 50 W x2 = 100 W amplifier will inevitably lead to insufficient amplification and distortion at higher volumes. Also, the fact that Fosi has five-way binder posts for speaker connectors is a plus, much better than Lepai's primitive clippers. I did hesitate in choosing between the Fosi (this unit) and Micca OriGain A250 or OriGain AD250. OriGain A250 is $20 more expensive, not a lot in the dollar amount, but one-third (33%) more in relative terms, which becomes a matter of principle, if not affordability. Still, I almost got OriGain A250 instead of Fosi V1.0 because the A250 has slightly better user review ranking, and I desired peace of mind. But then I saw reviews that mentioned OriGain A250's having heavy bias on the left channel at low volume level. That bothered me as I usually listen to background music at quite low volume levels. OriGain AD250 had its own attractions because it had a built-in ADC and USB sound input. However, in the end, I decided not to go that route because integrating ADC may appear convenient now but could be an invitation for trouble further down the road. What if the built-in ADC develops problems? (I did see one reviewer mentioning OriGain AD250's built-in ADC has a signal synchronization problem). Or what if you want to upgrade ADC? Etc. Anyway, I'm glad I settled on the Fosi. It leaves me wanting nothing more for my computer-based desktop system.

Clean Sound, Solid Power, and a Great Price
The Fosi Audio V1.0G is a fantastic little Class D amplifier. I was genuinely impressed with how well it performs for its size and price. I paired it with some very efficient speakers and a separate phono stage for my daughter’s record player, and it turned out to be exactly what we needed. The sound quality is clean and surprisingly full. It delivers more than enough power for a small to medium room when paired with efficient speakers, and it does so without distortion or harshness. The simplicity of the 2-channel design is a big plus here — no unnecessary features, just volume control and solid amplification. For a compact amp, it feels well put together and runs cool. This is a great option for turntables (with a phono preamp), desktop audio, or any simple stereo setup where you want good sound without spending a lot of money or taking up much space. For the price, it punches well above its weight. TL;DR: Excellent small Class D amp with clean sound and plenty of power for efficient speakers. Simple, affordable, and perfect for a basic 2-channel or turntable setup.

A lot of good, quality sound in a tiny package. PERFECT for high-efficiency speakers
So, I bought this little unit in 2020… 4 whole years ago… and finally found the time and the need to use it. Boy am I pleasantly surprised. Paired with my various Klipsch speakers (mostly using my giant corner horns at the moment), this amp sounds amazing. It really does. And I'm quite nitpicky when it comes to sound quality. I'm used to various amps, including vintage Sansui, Marantz, Kenwood receivers and vintage and newer Mcintosh, which all sound different. I'm using an (too expensive) ADI 2 Pro DAC converter that has phenomenal sound reproduction characteristics, so if the end result is anything less than great, it's this little amps fault. I'm glad to say that it sounds very crisp and clean, very much like the Sansui AU-919, which was designed to provide very faithful reproduction of the original music. In fact, it sounds just as good as my AU-919. It is the exact opposite of the "warm tube amp" sound, similar to the sound that Marantz and Macintosh amps are known for. If that's the sound you're looking for, this isn't the amp. You could use a preamp to tweak the sound, if you wanted to, I suppose. The most important thing to remember is that this amp is "only" 50 W, so the more efficient your speakers, the better the sound is going to be. Klipsch speakers can get very loud with just a couple of watts of power. I have a 17 W tube amp and I can't turn the volume more than 50% or the sound will be so loud it's unbearable. So 50 W for my speakers is more than enough. If you have speakers that NEED 50 W, you probably will need something more powerful… and there are different models of this amp that will work better for you. This amp would be perfect with a surround sound system… One amp for each channel. Now that I know how well this unit works, I will definitely be buying a couple of more of them to add additional speaker pairs. I've seen some others say that their unit gets really hot. Mine doesn't… not at all. Probably because I'm not using all 50 W. This goes back to pairing it with the right speakers. I set the volume on the amp to 50% and then adjust the input to get additional volume. If you are having to run the volume on the amp at 100% all the time, you definitely need an amp with more power… 100 W or more.

Perfect for home practice setup
This is a real cool little amp and the perfect solution I was looking for to power my practice setup. I previously had a larger PA amp and when it died I went searching for something compact, clean and low noise. The Fosi Audio V1.0G was the perfect fit. Great deal - highly recommended.

Very Impressive and Enjoyable
OK, lived with it for a couple of weeks now, and am really very impressed. My background is a former budget audiophile who has been unable to set up a decent system for six years now- and decided to see what ChiFi is all about. Last system was vintage Amber Series 70 amp/Parasound preamp/NAD cd/Magnepan MMG and I'm comparing this to my memory of that. I've paired this Fosi AudioTPA3116 based integrated amp with Q Audio 3010 speakers and a Chromecast Audio. The Q Audios are small enough so that I'm unable to judge lower region bass availability, and the ChromeCast Audio means that I'm still dealing with Spotify compression, but with those caveats here we go... Very surprised at the available power and the control this had over the (small) speaker cones. Chose it because this board design appears to have more capacitors then others on Amazon, but I was used to having big cans in the Amber and was skeptical on it's high-current demand performance. At least with the small speakers I need not have worried, this sounds easy and effortless within it's smaller wattage environment. Don't sense the amp straining or playing catch-up with varied types of music. They say these things have around 90% efficiency, and it shocks me that there's this much push available from this tiny unit. If you're banging big speakers at high volume you may feel differently, but for normal/louder listening levels in a 300 sq ft room this just pours it out. Transparency and presence are very good, with believable voices and instruments that have impact and some resonance. Sound staging and imaging are also good with easily located musicians in a reasonably wide area- that area is a bit shallow though, without great depth, and the musicians sound slightly distant instead of right there in your room. The important caveat here is the Chromecast Audio limitations. I believe that these areas are particularly affected by streaming through Spotify rather than a direct connection from a disc player or lossless audio feed and my issues may well have to do with the source. The tonal quality does seem dry to me. Not harsh in any way, but vocals and stringed instruments particularly don't have the warmth that I prefer (very dry at first listen with typical improvement over time.) That being said, there's lots of detail here, and you can even hear a bit of breathing/fingering/striking. It's a more analytical approach, and really the amount of information available is extremely impressive for this price. I think this reflects the quality of the preamp that's in there, and that kinda leads to the idea that there's a very short signal path in this thing. With a really small board, no tone controls and only one input, seems to me that even though the chip is playing around with DSP in some way that I don't understand, there's a lot of 'straight wire with gain' positives here. This does not sound like an expensive high-bias AB amp with a 10 pound heat sink. Don't expect that, but this is a much better than anticipated integrated amp that is of high enough quality to allow for enjoyable critical listening and is great value! It sounds considerablly better than a typical 1980s/1990s mass market receiver, and at this price it's a ridiculous bargain. Back in the Dino days, you would pay much, much more money to get this kind of sound quality. A great entry into higher-end sonics.

The Best Amplifier For Its Price Range
I bought this amplifier to connect my passive Sony tower speakers to my turntable, and it is an amazing amp for its price. Compared to other options in its price range, this amplifier is leagues better than anything else on the market. It was fairly simple to set up, and due to its small footprint, fits amazingly in my compact setup. The sound quality on this amplifier is impeccable. It is dead silent when no music is playing, and there’s no humming or noise that interferes with the sound at all. Also, it looks great. It has a sleek design and a nice metal finish, along with great build quality, and it’s a perfect addition to any stereo setup.

Amazing
This thing is serious so perfect. I use it for my computer with some JBL passive speakers, and man. This thing can carry bad speakers and probably makes good speakers even better. The volume dial is a good size too and convenient.

Functional amplifier with electrical concerns
Let me start by saying that I am not an electrician or an audiophile. That being said - here is my experience with the amplifier: EDITED: Changed from 2 stars to 3 since seller contacted me with changes they are making to the quality control of the product, as well as the power supply. I'll start with the cons, since they're more important in my mind than the pros CONS: * Lightweight - the cables will probably lift the amplifier off the surface, and it's hard to get straight, unless you were to secure it to the surface somehow * Sparks every time you place the power cord in the amp without first unplugging the power cord from the wall. GRANTED - it does tell you to plug the power cord into the amp THEN the wall in the manual, but if you forget; it will spark --- every time (see included video) * Only supports lightweight gage wire. The terminals work fine with 16 gage, but anything bulkier than that, you're going to have problems attaching it without banana plugs or stripping some of the bulk of the wire away first. * The included power supply didn't fit the amplifier by about a quarter inch, BUT - the seller contacted me through comment and email and ensured that the power supply has been changed to fit, so that is no longer an issue. * The power switch on the front of the amplifier didn't work, it did not switch off the speakers from playing, all it did was flicker the blue LED light on the front of the amp. - again, the seller contacted by comment and email and ensured that they will "triple" check the amp before it mails out, so this will likely not be an issue in the future. PROS: * The amplifier sounds great - if I were to rate the amplifier on sound alone, I would give it a 4 or 5 - but again, I'm not an audiophile, so I probably couldn't tell the difference between "good" and "great" sound anyway - I used it to power two 8 inch ceiling speakers, and it could get sufficiently loud and clear without distortion. * Price - it's obviously on the cheap end of a 2 channel amplifier. * Appearance - it's a pretty amplifier - I got the silver, and the metal finish looks nice * It's small, so easy to store? I guess this can be a pro or con, depending on what you're wanting. It seems like a decent amplifier, and if it weren't for the sparking issue, and the power brick that didn't fit (which is no longer an issue) - I would keep it, and probably be happy with it. The price is also goo TL/DR - it's a good small cheap amplifier (from a purely functional perspective), but has potential electrical issues, that have likely been fixed since this purchase

Great value
Pretty chocking, not a proper audio guy myself but tinker a bit in periods, bought for my father had no problem to drive his set up and somewhat neutral sounding too, a lot for your hard earned $ no doubt so feel compelled to maximize my feedback due to it's cost. Yes fathers speakers are medium sized 100w/4Ohm, but quite sensitive. Highly recommend.

Great Piece of Kit
I have had an old set of Dell PC Speakers (2 speakers plus a sub-woofer) for many many years. They were quite well made and had an adequate sound (volume and quality) from my computer - mainly listening to Spotify. However they stated to fail with increasing noise, static and fading volume - it may be just a dirty volume control but I was not sure so I had been looking for a replacement for some time, but nothing really looked like what I wanted - everything these days looks quite cheap and plasticy. However I also had a pair of Wharfdale Diamond 2 speakers from my old (no longer used) stereo system. These are actually relatively small but high quality speakers so I decided that a better strategy might be to deploy these speakers with a (physically) small amplifier and came across this Fosi device. I left this in my basket for a long time as well but finally got it on an Amazon discount week making it much more reasonably priced. I was not sure what to expect as I had used the speakers before with a traditional large Pioneer traditional (and large) stereo amplifier. This device is tiny - much smaller than I expected - the power brick is about twice the size of the amplifier! The photos show that the connections at the rear fill the panel. I also bought some banana plugs for the speaker cable (some quality QED flat twin and 3.5mm jack to phono cable and connected it all together. I really am impressed with the quality of the sound output with these speakers. I have had the volume at the maximum setting and it was really clean and clear, with a decent frequency range (using the Realtek graphic equalizer application) and minimal distortion, so I am pleased with the outcome and it reuses my speakers that had been in the loft for years In terms of the amplifier, it doesn't get hot even when running at high-output for long periods of time. It's quite well made - a reasonable level of perceived quality. I had one trivial issue that the volume knob fell off but it just needed the grub screw tightening a little more. I think the the power switch seems a little lightweight and could have been a little more robust looking but these are minor nitpicking issues Really happy so far.

A plein volume on arrive péniblement à 3.5w !
