Folding Camping Saw 8.25" Black Powder Coated Blade Soft Grip TRP Handle Black

I absolutely love this thing, a while back I was visiting my girlfriend in Massachusetts and we had her daughter with us that weekend and she told me she wanted to walking stick while basically hiking the terrain we were on , back home in Texas; That’s usually no big problem because I generally have a machete or something to that affect to make that happen, so fast forward I went on Amazon later day , and I bought this wonderful, super sharp folding saw and waited for the time to be right to get the opportunity to go back up to Massachusetts and was able to make a little girl happy because she had her own custom walking stick as we were going for another nature trail hike. Thank you SOG for making such a great piece of equipment..—-super sharp blade.

This thing cuts great. I bought it for cutting roots while metal detecting and bottle digging. I’ve used it to saw through a 4 inch tree laying in my path with minimum effort. It is a great buy and well worth the money. Only downfall is the blade is thin and is prone to bending and possibly snapping. Just be careful with it and you should be fine. It is very lightweight, and handy.

After reading several of the reviews I was worried I had spent my hard earned money on junk. That is not what this is at all. This saw has a locking mechanism on the back side of the handle. The lock keeps the blade closed or opened until depressed. The tool made short work of several 3 inch limbs and worked well on a smaller tree approximately 5" in diameter. Overall I am very happy with the tool. I gave this 4 stars only because the rubber on the lock mechanism had come unglued and I had to redo the glue. This was not a big deal but it wasn't perfect.

Great quality, really useful

Very portable. I attach the sheath to my belt and take it with me in the garden and the trail. The saw blade is very sharp and cuts right through branches. I was concerned when I read a review that the blade was too thin. No problem; it works beautifully.

Very sturdy saw and a great value

Cuts good. This is a nice sized saw that folds into a small enough item to put in my emergency backpack. The nylon case seems adequate and has a secondary pocket for extra blades. The only thing I noticed is that I have a tendency to hold the saw up high on the handle and a few times I accidentally pressed the orange button that locks and unlocks it. This caused the blade to go backwards until I locked it in place. I was disappointed that it didn't have a black safety lock as pictured and came with a bright orange one. Someone wanting to stay hidden might not like that. The orange is very visible.

i have been on a quest for finding a pocket size saw. I have tried three and while this one has features i like, there are some features I absolutely don't like. The blade is probably the thinnest of the three and will tend to bend if the saw catches on the forward stroke. That is not the worst sin, but this saw will also come out of lock and bend slightly up - not harming your hand - but more than once it has given me cause for thought.On the plus side, the lever action lock is easy to use, and the blade stays in good alignment when closing. The carrying case is much nicer than most. I own several SOG knives and have never really been disappointed. I do know that SOG focuses on keeping things light and they have definitely accomplished that with this saw. I would love this saw with a little heavier blade

Such a handy "little" saw. While compact in size, it certainly performs much bigger than it seems. Super sharp, and ergonomic. We used it this winter to cut down a Christmas tree, and found it far better than a traditional bowsaw. Not to mention that it folded down to fit in a pocket when not in use. We purchased a second one for our son as he camps with Scouts, and will get another to keep in our camper as well.

Great lightweight folding hand saw with locking blade. Comes with a good nylon storage case. Comfortable handle & quite smooth cutting.Wish it came with extra blades or the option to purchase on Amazon. Though they can be purchased directly through SOG.
