All products will automatically assume and try to connect to the 5Ghz bandwidth as this is the one that is the fastest speeds. All WiFi products need to connect initially to the 2.4Ghz WiFi so the 5Ghz does need to be disabled. Once it is connected onto the network you can activate your 5Ghz bandwidth again.
