Dunzy 60 Pcs Blank Leather Hat Patch, Khaki, 3 x 2 Inch

I initially had some problems with these patches. I've used another brand and there was a plastic backing that needed to be removed before you could use the hat press. I couldn't get the plastic off the backs of these and they weren't sticking to the hat using a hat press at 275° and 20 seconds so I contacted the seller. I was told that the plastic is not supposed to be removed and it's part of the adhesive. After some trial and error, I found that if I set my hat press to 350° and 30 seconds, they work fine.

Good Quality

I'm torn with the star rating here because the items arrived fine, the quality of the stiching was good and the product was clean. I can't review these for their intended purpose but I wanted to share my experience with Sublimation. In all fairness, the vendor says these are for Laser Engraving and doesn't mention . There is a photo with color in the advert so I was hopeful (my fault, not the vendors) so my rating is primarily based on the appearance of the material and maybe helpful info in the advertising.These patches do not have a paper backing which should have been my first clue that they were not for sublimation. This caused me to do some research on adhesives and I realized that the typical 380F+ sublimation temperature is likely to degrade the adhesive backing. Forging on then, I did a couple of tests at ~360 to 370 degrees in my press for about 70 seconds each. The sublimation paper stuck to the patches (again a sign that these are not designed for sublimation) but they did clean up when the paper was dissolved in running water. There are a few things with these that make them unacceptable for my work.1) Under the higher temperature, the texture induced to make these a Leatherette is basically gone. In place is a rather blotchy background.2) The overall contrast between my printing and the patch is less due to darkening of the patch. My guess is this isn't so much of a problem if heat and pressure is just being used to fix it (like with an iron as indicated in the listing).3) One plus has to do with the threading. As I was worried about the adhesive degrading, my plan was to use another heat and bond type adhesive after sanding off the damaged adhesive. The sanding with 400 grit was very quick and since the stiching held even as I removed the backside (presubably because the existing adhesive filledthe holes.)

These engrave well. But when applied to a hat with heat, they burn every time. Had to go back to gluing the patches on to quit wasting hats and patches.

These were great. I made custom hats for my sisters wedding and people are still raving about them. Easy to apply and they stick well!

These worked great for my project.For gray patches going on a knit stocking cap:xTool D1 Pro 10w -- XCS software, 15% power, 60 speedMPress Heat Press -- 320 F for 20 seconds heavy pressure with a teflon sheet, then stick hand inside hat and "hand press" patch area only onto top platen until you can feel the heat thru the hat - about another 10-15 seconds, also with a teflon sheet.It took longer than expected to get the adhesive adequately melted into the knit to get it to hold.

Horrible and that just constantly burn. And when you lower the heat they will not stick on the back.

I find them very good.

muy buenos para grabado laser, se graban super bien y si tienes bien calibrada tu maquina incluso el grabado puede conservar la textura del parche y eso le da un toque mas profesional en lugar de verse quemado como con otros que he probado. El pegamento es super fuerte solo toma en cuenta que si la superficie donde lo pongas no es totalmente plana va a tomar la forma de las juntas de una chamarra o gorra por ejemplo y eso no se ve muy bien, asi que traten de pegarlos solo en zonas planas.

These look good quality but haven't tried yet as they have just arrived earlier than expected which is great.

I honestly haven’t had a chance to utilize these yet but the quality seems really good and the colours are vibrant.

Good size patches for lasering with your own design. Although they have an iron on adhesive backing I found this not very effective especially if applying to a cap as the heat needs to be applied from the inside as ironing the front can damage the patch and any design on it. The solution is to use fabric glue and ignore the adhesive backing.
