Is this SSD compatible with any desktop old and new?

The guy that said this is a PCIe and NVMe drive is hallucinating. It's a standard 2.5" SATA drive, just like the listing says, and will work with nearly all desktop and laptop PCs (even Apple) that have a 2.5" or 3.5" SATA interface, which would be nearly all of them except for the very newest and slimmest laptops that no longer have a 2.5" bay.

Likely will work.  Just remember, most newer SSDs are 7mm thick.  If you are putting this in an older unit that had a 9mm thick drive then you will need the extra SSD spacer (usually foam or rubber material) to make up the difference to eliminate any possible motion with the extra empty space in the drive bay.  Have had many repairs come in for this very reason with the SSD connectors broken due to motion within the drive bay.
