A jigsaw that can make a jigsaw
I bought this after my old Bosch gave up the ghost, with the footplate screw having been damaged so that the jig would not sit straight on the wood. I like Bosch and this one seemed the best option for the price i was willing to pay. I'm glad i bought this as it is a brilliant saw for those budding DIYer and also for the tradesman when it comes to cutting wood, plastics, laminates and more, depending on the blades of course. The quick blade change is so easy to get the hang of, just remember to unplug the saw before you do it as your hands are on the blade when you slot it into the housing by lifting the red notch at the front. It has the power to slice through wood and other material. I mainly use wood in my work and this has no trouble slicing through what ever I put in front of it. the footplate is strong, with the easy option of tilting from left to right. The handle has a rubber coating over it which makes gripping it a pleasure with no real hassles with vibrations and the like. The extraction hose fitting is right at the rear which makes it easier to use with the vacuum cleaner hosing not getting in the way of the cutting, which clears the saw dust from the work area. It has the usual trigger at the front underside of the handle with the 'lock on' button just above the trigger. This makes it easy to lock the blade running with just your thumb. So, if you want a simple to use and powerful jigsaw this is the one for you.

You get more than you pay for.
I have many hand tools in my workshop , various brands ...Mikita , De-Walt etc ..all good solid tools , all with good solid price tags . Fine ! No problem, you get what you pay for ...and an inaccurate job is THE most pointless and frustrating thing. So to say this cheap jigsaw from Bosh is the equal to my De-Walt Jig seems to run against my previous statement ....but you know what ...it really is . It’s versatile , easy to use , feels great in the hand, can be controlled beautifully with les or more pressure on the trigger ...it’s not bulky and feels like an extension of your hand ...Sure it has draw backs (corded ) being one ...and if you’re building a satellite , perhaps is accuracy is a tiny tiny bit off on pushed cuts ? But I’m not building satellites ....so for its price its incredibly good . My last bosh jigsaw lasted 4 years of solid use. So no lifetime tool ....but hey ...it is what it is ... Inexpensive and good .

Excellent lightweight beginner jigsaw
The Bosch PST 700 E arrived on time despite Amazon suggesting it might not. It comes in a handy green box that should protect the tool over time. In the box you get the jigsaw itself, plus one blade (fast cut for wood) and a user manual. There's space in the box for more blades that you have to purchase separately. The tool fits both T shank and universal fitment blades, according to the manual, but of course if you buy Bosch or "Bosch compatible" then you should be okay. Fitting the blade in is simple, although I found it slightly odd that in lifting the red movable mechanism, with the blade in place it didn't return all the way down. I tried it with a few different blades that I had and the same thing, but in use it holds it fine and no blade has ever fallen out. A word of caution before making your first cut: make sure the foot plate is centered and tight. Mine wasn't and that would have resulted in a non-straight cut if you follow the marker arrow and don't look at the blade that follows it. I personally chose a corded jigsaw over a cordless one, because I considered that it won't be in regular use and having a battery out of use for any extended periods of time is not good for its longevity. So, a cord was a requirement of mine. I think Bosch have been a bit stingy though and could have provided a longer power cable as this would avoid the need for extension cables in many scenarios. The tool itself is simple to operate with the trigger being pressure sensitive so you don't have to use it at maximum speed all the time. There's a lock that holds it at maximum speed though, but not at slower speeds. The only other feature is the air blower, which I personally find useful. There is a vacuum attachment on the back of the tool, but despite owning a standard 'outdoor builder' type Nilfisk vacuum cleaner, it does not fit and so has so far proven useless to me. I've not tried the footplate angle cutting yet, but have no reason to believe it won't work. I would say that it would be better if it had two screws holding it in, rather than the single screw. Notches and indents aim to make sure the foot plate is aligned though, but as mentioned, out the box mine wasn't. All in all, for my light use so far, it's a nice lightweight tool that's easy to use. I like that it isn't complicated and isn't covered in buttons or settings or adjustable pendulum action, unlike other brands that – I think – overcomplicate matters. That said, is it worth twice the price of a generic branded jigsaw? Probably not, but I'd like to think that being a Bosch tool its quality and therefore longevity is superior.

Cutting Through the Clutter: The Bosch PST 700 E Jigsaw 🪚⚡️🎯
Cutting Through the Clutter: The Bosch PST 700 E Jigsaw 🪚⚡️🎯 If you're in the market for a versatile and reliable jigsaw that can handle a wide range of materials with precision and ease, the Bosch PST 700 E might just be the perfect fit. This compact powerhouse packs a punch with its 500W motor and impressive cutting depth capabilities, making it an ideal choice for both DIY enthusiasts and professionals alike. 💪 Let's start with the standout features that make this jigsaw a true gem: 1. Versatility Galore 🌳⚙️🔩: With cutting depths of up to 70mm in wood, 10mm in aluminum, and 4mm in steel, the PST 700 E is a true material-agnostic warrior. Whether you're tackling intricate woodworking projects, slicing through metal sheets, or navigating curved designs, this jigsaw has got your back. 2. Smooth Operator ✨: Thanks to its linear mass balance and ergonomic softgrip design, the PST 700 E delivers a low-vibration experience that ensures precise cutting and reduced fatigue. No more shaky hands or wobbly lines – just smooth, controlled movements for impeccable results. 3. Clear Vision 👁️🌫️: The switchable air blast function is a game-changer, keeping your cutting line clear and visible at all times. Say goodbye to obstructed views and hello to clean, accurate cuts every time. 4. Blade Change Bliss 🔑: Bosch's SDS system makes blade changes a breeze, allowing you to swap blades in seconds without the need for additional tools. Efficiency at its finest! Now, let's address some potential drawbacks that you should be aware of: 1. Weight Watchers 🏋️♀️: While the compact design is undoubtedly a plus, some users may find the 1.7 kg weight a tad heavy, especially during extended use. But hey, that's what those bicep curls were for, right? 💪 2. Dust Management 🌪️: While the air blast function is a great help, some users may prefer a more robust dust extraction system for cleaner workspaces. An adapter for connecting to an industrial dust extractor is available, but it's an additional investment. From my experience: "The Bosch PST 700 E is a true workhorse that has transformed my DIY projects. Its versatility and precision have allowed me to tackle intricate woodworking tasks with ease, while its low-vibration design ensures a comfortable and controlled cutting experience every time. While the weight and dust management could be improved, the overall performance and features make this jigsaw an absolute must-have for any serious DIYer or professional." 🎯 So, if you're seeking a reliable, feature-packed jigsaw that can handle a wide range of materials with precision and ease, the Bosch PST 700 E is definitely worth considering. Just be prepared to flex those muscles (literally and figuratively) and invest in a solid dust extraction system if cleanliness is a top priority. Happy sawing! ⚡️
