SPL3.1 takes advantage of all of the same building materials as its larger counterparts. It has silk dome tweeters for silky smooth high end and a stiff and light woven composite cone for precise mid response. With only 3″ of diameter the bass response is a little limited but when run with an appropriate crossover its performance is still solid and convincing with a sizeable magnet and high quality stiff construction compensating well for lack of cone area. Overall it is easy to see why these SPL co-axials sound so excellent with such strong family genes.
