Replacement Foil & Cutter Cassette - 70S, Series 7, Pulsonic - 9000 Series BRAUN Cassette 70S

I'm a bit old-fashioned. I wash my face with soap and hot water and I tend not to use expensive unguents, maybe some sunscreen from time to time or some E45 but that's it. Shaving is a necessary function and, for me, electric shavers are preferable to shaving cream and wet blades. I have used various Braun electric shavers over the last 20 or so years and I'm a bit relaxed over changing the cutters on time. I have had my current 7000 Series for about 3 years and I have just put a new cutter head on it. I read a couple of reviews which commented adversely about things like a change in the shape of the holes in the foil and a smell of oil. Well, I noted the move back to symmetrically shaped holes in the foil and my old nose just about managed to detect a faint smell of lubricating oil but, hey, it wasn't exactly Shell or Texaco that was in there but there are a lot of moving parts. Whatever, the new cutting head performs brilliantly and gives me a good shave and that's what I am paying for. Maybe I'll renew it in the recommended 18 months but I expect I'll just keep using it until it stops shaving me satisfactorily. Well done Braun.

Bought these several times for my other half's razor. Find it difficult to find in the local shops. Never any problem with them.

I read quite a few of the reviews of this replacement head before I bought one, and have left it for a month since I began using it to try and offer a fair assessment.The foil pattern is different, as shown in the photos above, the question being: do they give a better or worse shave?For me it's been swings and roundabouts. When I first bought my Series 7 18 months ago I was astonished at how sharp the cutter was, almost wet-shave sharp. A definite 'wow' factor. It even cut a tiny mole I have on my chin, something none of my previous high-end electrics had done.It performed really well on my average beard though baulked at two-day growth and would tug one the odd hair quite painfully.The new foil does not have that 'wow' factor. It delivers a very good shave but not the startling one the orginal did. However, it doesn't nip or catch me as the first did, a plus in my view. Additionally, it has coped pretty well over the last couple of weeks when I've been unwell and not shaved for three days. The original would have been more painful to use.I'm happy enough with the replacement though perhaps Braun could marry the sharpness of the orginal with the ease of use of the new one.

Having gotten to the stage where my face was getting cuts from the existing cartridge in my Braun 790 shaver I finally got around to buying a replacement. I bought it from Amazon whose price was very good when compared to the high street stores, and on arrival I switched it over easily. That was really only a case of lifting off the old shaver head (as when cleaning under a tap etc) and fitting the new one instead as the replacement cutter and foil come in a cartridge type fitting.Unlike some other reviewers I didn't find any lingering smells on mine which pleased me and I soon found myself getting a proper shave again. It's surprising how the results from shaving with a fresh `blade' are so much better - there were no cuts or irritation and I finished the shave in half the time too. It was also a far closer shave than with the old head fitted.One other benefit from the new shaver head is that it collects a lot more of the shavings within the head rather than letting them fall down my shirt or chest. It had become a bugbear with me that this shaver was messy to use from the shavings but now only a fraction manages to escape. Overall I'm very impressed with this new design of shaver head and will make a point of replacing it more readily next time.

I read a number of reviews before purchasing this product, I was a little concerned about the change to the foil pattern and if this would be as good as the original. The blades on the original head that came with the shaver were still functional but it was talking longer to get a decent shave.The new head arrived quickly and in retail packaging. I fitted the head to my series 7 790cc-4, the fit is perfect and when turned on it doesn’t sound any different to the original head.I have been using this for 2 months now and from the first time to now it still feels like a new shaver, I hadn’t realised how poor the original head had got over time, the new head gives a close shave first time with no pulling or constantly going over the same area.This was an excellent purchase and I would recommend buying it.

I've been using this re-designed blade assembly for a few weeks now, and I find it better than the original design, both for giving a smoother, closer shave and for cleaning properly. The original design, while a good idea, had perforations that were too small to give a smooth shave without continually going over the same patches and it was impossible to keep it clean, as the small holes trapped too many clippings.The new design lets more hair in and more cuttings out (although not while shaving, as it should be), so it gives a faster, smoother shave -- and it cleans properly and thoroughly using just the tap and an old toothbrush and/or the automatic cleaning mechanism. Using all of the above gives best results, I think, and extends the life of the cleaning cartridge.I think this redesigned version is much better than the original one. It's a more tried and tested design, like older Braun razors I've used previously that gave similarly good shaves. You just have to pull your skin tight when shaving, obviously.
