Does it tell you in the instructions how to install it via the terminal?

Yes  in the package is a small document  that details the install procedure for linux -  you will need a network connection  for this   as it downloads the driver files  -  I ran a temporary long patch cable to my router to have  an ethernet connection.  My install was on Ubuntu

Hi- I have a mag 254 iptv box that i need to connect to 5g virgin media wifi (2.4 is disabled) and i cant connect via cable- will that work please?

It is a 'plug and play' USB WiFi adapter. However. I used it on an older non-wifi Raspberry Pi, amd had to download some drivers before the Pi recognised it.
For a PC or something like you TV box, that my not be necessary.

Please kindly note that the linux wifi dongle need to be plugged into a USB port to use. A driver is needed to be installed. So the linux wifi dongle could work for your PC but may not work for a tablet.
