I was sceptical about this product having had a sore ankle for over 2 months and tried the usual - compressed bandages, various ankle supports, ice pack etc. I did not want too waste time going to see my GP or hospital only to be told elevate your foot, put ice packs on (frozen peas) and it will eventually go and waste my time.I came across this whilst I was actually searching for something else and I am glad I ordered it because it has meant I have been able to get some much needed relief for my sore ankle. I am usually standing around at work for anything from 6-8 hours each day and after I have finished work my ankle was very sore and I was limping around. Ever since I got the Lapstrap Ankle Support and put it on it has meant I have been relatively pain free and do not suffer as I use to do, which is a blessing in disguise and fingers crossed my ankle will get better in time and I will not need to use the support any more.The strap is a bit fiddly to put on at first but eventually you get the hang of it and I bought some additional Thermovibe Gel Packs so that I always had at least one in the fridge if I needed it. I found that if you do put the gel packs in the fridge (freezer) I put a sock on my foot and then put the support on with the gel pack on, this way you will not suffer from any burns if your skin is in contact with the gel pack - particularly important if you put them in the freezer as I did!!I am not affiliated with the company or get any free products for giving this feedback just so that you are aware but would be happy if any freebies came along ::))You will get e-mails from Richard (the Happy Helper) who is the chap who has designed the strap and to contact him directly if you have any concerns or problems. Fortunately I have not done so but it is refreshing to find someone who has good customer service these days.So if you do suffer from a sore ankle then buy this product and whilst it may be a little expensive to others out there it can be re-used should you have a need for it. I would suggest that you buy the additional Gel packs at the same time as wellEDIT: Whilst I am happy with the product I do find on occasions the pad move either whilst I am trying to position them into place or when the strap is on due to the fact that there is only one tiny piece of velcro on one side. I contacted Richard who told me that there is a re-design of the pads taking place but that he would modify two pads for me and send them in the post without any charge. These are now perfect and is yet another example of how much Richard takes his customer service and values their feedback . This product offers excellent support for less severe ankle and or achilles issues . Plus it is relatively easy to put on and remove . It is well made and,( it would appear )will last a considerable time .When wearing the support it does not feel too restrictive or tight ,but offers comfortable support and easy mobility.The gel cold pack supplied can be positioned before putting the support on or after , it is best to experiment to see what is best for the individual.I would certainly recommend this product based on my own experience .

The strap is brilliant. I ordered it because I had a long term tendon and ligament issue in my ankle, and the strap supported my ankle well, allowing me to restart the sports I had been doing. It's handmade, and the quality is brilliant. Overtime, it wore down, but that was through heavy use, and is still usable 18months on from purchase.Sometimes, I found it slightly uncomfortable, with the metal plate in the side of the support digging into my malleolus (hard bond knobs on the side of the foot). regardless, its a great supportive ankle support, and I would recommend, and buy again if needed.

I have problems with my ankles and have done for many years. This support is by far one of the best I have ever used. It offers more support than others I have tried, and is very comfortable and well made! Cannot recommend enough!!

Having had a tender achilles tendon soreness for some months I decided to make the purchase and yes, there are lots of products available but once you find the one that works for you, you stay with it.In this instance, I did find a product that worked for me and would re purchase when required.Within a week, I noticed that the tenderness was reducing and as Basketball Referee with constant running and turning movement, I found the support this offered was more than adequate. The gel can be placed in the fridge and applied as an ice pack to reduce inflammation and swelling. I used it heavily in early use, even wearing on normal days to add support and promote healing of the tendon and it has been successful.Best RegardsDave W

I injured my achilles tendon at the point where it meets the heel, and hoped this might help. It didn't really. When worn with the pad, the crossing straps were difficult to position properly, and made the part under the foot bulge out. Didn't feel very secure on my foot. Wearing it with the pad did make me feel more comfortable about the risk of knocking the point of contact between the tendon and the heel, but that was about the only use for it, and, to be honest, a pad and a pair of thick socks did the same thing. It may be supportive for weak / sprained ankles - I don't know, but if you are thinking of buying this to relieve and/or protect the lowest part of the achilles tendon, buy something else or strap it up with a pad. Shame, as I wanted to like it, but not suited at all for what I needed it for.** Update - Seller refunded my money with no trouble at all as it wasn't suitable for my particular issue. Great customer service so have updated the stars to three (I know this is not strictly about the product but I am only critical of it's particular application to my issue rather than problems with the achilles tendon in general, which it may well be suitable for)

I bought this as part of my recovery from a broken ankle. I had previously purchased a support advertised as used by Andy Murray (although I did not get the impression he had anything else to do with it). However, not only was the sizing advice incorrect so I ended up buying a size too small and going against my instinct, it was extremely uncomfortable, particularly on a now mishapen and painful ankle. However, when I tried to return it, Amazon refused as it was classed as a 'Medical' product- so beware.After hunting around I found this one and was glad I did. Not only is it an excellent product, it is less than half the price of the aforementioned brace. In addition, the makers have included a note saying if you want to return it for any reason you can get a refund, even though Amazon will not honour one they will. I liked that. The brace is indeed very comfortable and the support strips along the side are strong but flexible and perfectly placed to not cause any discomfort AT ALL. A big relief after weeks of pain. The product is well made and has an internal sleeve that holds your ankle in place securely but not too tightly. It also comes with the added bonus of a gel pack that can gently insulate the site from your own body heat or be cooled to reduce swelling. Overall I would say it is excellent and good value for money. I did find the internal 'sleeve' a tad tight to put on because my ankle is still in recovery so if you have a swollen/mishapen ankle like me you may find it a bit difficult. The makers recommend cutting this if it is a problem, which I did slightly and it was easier, or I guess you could just not put your foot through it and wear the brace without that additional piece of support until your foot returns to a more normal size. I am very glad there are people out there making such fantastic products that are well designed and made. Would highly recommend.

I routinely use supports due to a connective tissue disorder.I recently sustained a bad injury from work and so needed something more suitable for longer term use ensuring I had adequate support, comfort and ease of use. I’m now back in work and can wear this with my work boots (I generally remove the thermo pad but this also fits with my boots).Having used plenty of other support I appreciate a good quality item when I find it, and this support is 100% my favourite support for my ankle.Also the seller includes useful instructions, hand crafts the item and seems to offer an incredibly open return policy!

Utilisé pour une entorse de cheville pour ma fille de 12 ans. Très facile à mettre et maintien bien la cheville. Petit plus, le coussinet de gel que l'on peut mettre au froid si besoin et qui est amovible par scratch. Ravie de cet achat

Suite à une entorse. Très b9n produit léger avec des baleines rigides latérales pour un.parfait maintien de la cheville. Très mince et confortable pour pouvoir porter des chaussures avec. Le coussinet de droit associé avec est un gadget mais permet de gagner en confort.
