Lovely breakfast cereal
I love these and until very recently we didn’t have a local supermarket that stocked them, the nearest was 10 miles away. The pack size is good, the cereal has a good fibre content, low sugar and salt, lovely crisp texture and are great in for breakfast or indeed anytime with lovely cold milk. They’re a good price on here and arrive safely.

New recipe
I noticed that the latest batch of Quaker Oat Crisp(best before April 2024) have a changed recipe(from previous batch with best before January 2024) so I thought I would post my findings about this in-case it is helpful to others. I have been eating these for a while since spotting them back in the shops a couple of years ago. I remember them from when they were originally on-sale as Oat Crunchies, many years ago! There is no mention of a recipe change on the box, but the box is different so I was interested to see if the recipe/product had changed and in-fact it has! (note that the older product has, "New Look" written on the front of the box) I have posted some pictures so that you can see the data for yourselves and have marked each of the images OLD(best before January 2024) or NEW(best before April 2024). The first thing that is obvious is the increase in oats from [OLD]Wholegrain oat flour 77% to [NEW]Wholegrain Rolled Oat 86% - a positive start! The other thing I notice is the demotion of barley malt extract from [OLD]4th in the list of ingredients to [NEW] last in the list, lower than the salt! Overall the, "Typical Nutrition Information" is similar OLD - NEW. What are they like? Well, to look at there is no obvious difference as per the picture of the Oat Crisp in the plate. Having placed them on the plate to photograph I then tasted them and I feel that the new recipe Oat Crisp seem to have a slightly lighter, crispier crunch to them than the old. In the bowl with added milk, I think this crisp seems to last longer before going soggy with the milk. The taste overall is very similar but they taste less malty than before. If you haven't tasted these before, Quaker's description, "Oat" and "Crisp" are a good description of what to expect from them and there is only a hint of sugar and so some people may find them bland. I do not like sugary breakfasts and I tend to enjoy these with just milk on days when I fancy a change from porridge. They are quick and easy to prepare too! If is isn't broke? I am wondering why the recipe was changed, I hope it was not to cheapen the product. Conclusion: I still really like this breakfast cereal, unfortunately just not as much as before but I will continue to eat this product on a regular basis. note my purchases of Quaker Oat Crisp both OLD and NEW were despatched and sold by Amazon.

Very bland
Hadn't seen these for years, so when I saw them I thought "Yum Yum" sadly, they tasted nothing like they used to. Like every cereal these days, they taste of nothing really. Very bland, I've eaten them, but wouldn'y buy again
