Well made, sturdy power pack. See my comments about plugged-in USB hubs!
A very robust power pack but the charge lights don't give you much confidence. The instructions are not very clear and contain many warnings and caveats that reduce your confidence still further. When my power pack was delivered both green charge lights were on, suggesting it was fully charged. The instructions contained severe warnings about over-charging so I was unsure how to proceed. I telephoned the manufacturers and spoke a very helpful and understanding senior engineer who told me it was OK and won't need charging. After 14 months the two green lights still show a full charge and I have not felt the need to recharge it. And today, after 14 months of the power pack being stored unused in the back of my car, I found myself parked next to a fairly old car with a flat battery. They had failed to jump-start it from another car so I offered to try the power pack. Here was a good test. It had been stored for 14 months with no additional charging and the car started immediately! Finally, note this power pack will only work if there is at least 7 volts remaining in the car battery. If you need a power pack that works on a completely dead battery expect to pay at least £200. (UPDATE October 2018: Only one charge light illuminated so charged it for 36 hours. The original charge lasted for 26 months (including starting one car). Very impressed.) The power-pack is solid and well made - and most importantly it worked like a dream after 14 months! A final note. Other reviewers claim it is a waste of money because the power pack rapidly loses charge when stored with a USB hub plugged into the cigarette lighter outlet, even though nothing was connected to the hub. This is NOT a fault of the power pack! A USB hub contains a voltage divider circuit (usually with a voltage regulator) to reduce the voltage from 12 volts to 5 volts - the voltage delivered by a USB hub. Voltage divider and regulator circuits always draw continuous low current even when nothing is connected. This will drain the battery within a few days. So please don't blame the power pack! The rule is DON'T store the power pack with anything plugged into the cigarette lighter outlet - especially a USB hub.

Great little unit
i read variable reviews on this product but thought i'd give it a try as was very competitively priced - have to say that its been great. i have an old L200 that needs coaxing at times - 2 1/2 litre diesel - this jump starts it no problems. Its slim enough to fit behind double cab seats and easy to carry and use.

Bad quality plastic case.
Delivered with plastic case cracked. Product is badly packed by manufacturer only in cardboard box nothing else inside. Easy to be damage in transport. Returned and ordered second one which came next day with even more damage. Both returned and won't buy anything again from this brand.

Very reliable but hard to follow instructions.
This was a life saver! I had quite a few problems with my car battery, but after buying this battery booster, I was able to start my car with ease every time. My battery was completely dead but I could rely on this booster to start my car in the cold mornings. It held enough charge for many jump starts, and was also great at charging up a dead battery, even if my battery discharged it soon after. I did however find the instructions very hard to follow. This is why I have given it 4 stars instead of 5. It was lucky that I read some reviews explaining the operation of it before buying it, because otherwise it would have taken me more time to get it working. Just make sure that when you first charge it, that you charge it for the full amount of time stated in the instructions, and ignore the charge indicators until afterwards. The additional light is useful but it isn't very bright. It does help though which is good. When you need to boost a battery, attach the clips to the battery, and then switch the black switch on, and turn the red dial on left side to the on position. This means that the connectors are live so that you can start your car. Careful not to touch the wires at this point. Start you car as normal and then once the car is running, turn the red dial to third position, switch the black switch to off and unclip the connectors and you're ready to go. If you want to boost a battery, even though it seems wrong to do it, you connect the double cigarette lighter attachment, one end to the booster, and one end into a 12V cigarette lighter socket in your car, and turn on the booster. This'll top up you battery and you should be able to start the car after about half a hour. Once you've worked out how to use the booster, it's all good. Overall, I was happy with the battery booster, but it would of benefited from better instructions.

It does its job. (MX5 2.0)
I used it on my MX5 with 2.0 litre engine and it worked on the first attempt. It was as though I jump start it using jump cables linked to other car. The battery was not completely flat, it still was able to support the lights but not able to start the engine. Before buying I had doubts about the cables and clamps it had, but they are better than on the pictures. Packaging was adequate, the instructions were sufficient to me but I have quite experience in jump starting cars with flat battery. People who never did it before my benefit from watching some general instruction video first. I bought it recently so I cannot say how often does it need recharging or how other functions work.

Not the best on the market
Good quality case strong and durable takes a long time to charge and will on start one maybe 2 vehicles if lucky on a full charge. Leads could have benefited from being a bit longer. Not for professional use but more the home start if needed.

Considered to be a Must Buy!
Quite a substantial piece of kit with some good additions including a 12v output for phones/tablets charging. The built in light is very useful especially when attaching to a dead battery at 3 am with no street lights available. Came fully charged and ready to use. Turned over a 2.2 Toyota diesel at -2C, after standing for a couple of days, with no trouble. A little extra weight in the boot, but worth it to know if the weather causes your battery to lose power, you'll be able to get moving again.
