The TMP36 is the substitute for the LM335A, it is a very popular analogue temperature sensor that is easy to use. Works like a Zener diode with a cut-off voltage proportional to absolute temperature with a range of 10 mV/K. Connects resistor from 5 V to GND and the sensor will give you in its output voltage that you can measure it with the ADC of your favourite micro-controller and also with Arduino. The output of the sensor is linear so that you will not have to calculate conversion values. Can operate from -40°C to 100 °C. To obtain a lower margin of error 1% (typical), you must calibrate the sensor. Check the data-sheet. Characteristics: Calibrated in degrees Kelvin. Works from: 4 mA to 5 mA. Impedance: Less than 1?.
