Review: 2 Week Review + 3 Month Review + 18 Month Review - I started with a back strain that was over a month old and kept reoccurring, sciatica that was beginning to become a regular issue and an overall bad mood from constantly being on painkillers. 2 weeks on and I have no back strain, no sciatica and no painkillers. The back strain was gone in 3 days, the sciatica in around a week and the painkillers were gone a few days later. If you can afford it get the lumbar bridge, you won’t regret it. I’ve used the table at no more than a 45 degree angle so far as my back has been dodgy my whole life, I don’t want to over stress it. 45 degrees was more than enough, some days I just laid flat on the lumbar bridge, such a good feeling to be able to just separate the spine for 5-10mins. In all honesty I use it so little I kind of feel like I’ve paid a lot of money for a one wear prom dress but I have to remind myself that if and when I hurt my back, this thing will be amazing, again. I’ll continue to use it to lay and relax on, it’s reeeeaaaallllyyyy nice. 3 Month Review: Just WOW! I'm a physically different person now, seriously! I've tweaked my back a couple of time in the last 3 months and both times during the week, when I literally have time for 5 minutes on it before bed. On both occasions what would have been at least two weeks of pain turned into 1 day of pain until I got home and another of a little soreness. After that my back was like nothing had happened. This thing will be with me for the rest of my life. 18 Month Review: I haven’t HAD to use it for over a year now. I have used it but to relax, and shut the missus up about it lying around not being used. I’ll toss her before I toss this lmao... For what it’s worth, I actually had a herniated disk in my lower back. Not anymore. Review: I bought the teeter inversion table as a gift for my mom, here is her review: I am a 48 year old woman, who is/was in good physical condition. I was diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD) of the L5-S1. I as also have a herniated disc at L3- L4 and Sacro-iliac pain. I have suffered tremendous pain for over 15 years. The last 2yrs have been horrendous however. I was instructed by my doctors to stopped jogging, skiing and almost all sports and activities necessitating bending or twisting of the spine. Pain is so difficult to describe as it is as unique as each one of us. For me my pain Is there as soon as my lower back muscles are in a resting or laying down position. It’s like my vertebrae stiffens up and getting up without support is simply impossible. I must NOT put any weight on my spine or surrounding muscles after they have relaxed. Pulling myself in the standing position is so painful and so scary, I feel like I am going to paralyse if I attempt it. It truly feels like someone has stabbed me in my lower spine. Turning in my sleep during the night is just excruciating. In order to get dressed In the morning, I stack my clothes next to me on my night table the night before, and I get dressed in the AM while laying on my back, legs up with my feet in the air. I don’t drink anything past 17:00 for fear of having to get up to pee in the middle of the night. God forbid should I sneeze or cough. Thank goodness, the pain does subside after about 15 minutes of moving about s l o w l y ... Then, once the DDD pain dissipates, I am left with the Sacro-iliac pain, that is constant 24/7. I have tried numerous attempts at fixing and relieving the pain. (Doctors, Anti-inflamation meds, osteopath, chiropractor, acupuncture, physiotherpay, therapeutic massages), to no avail. Acupuncture helped the most, but it doesn’t fix the issue, just helps me manage the pain. Then came the teeter.... My son got me this odd looking thing for Christmas. My husband put it together in about 40 minutes (easy peasy if you follow the instructions, WATCH THE DVD PEOPLE!!!). He adjusted the inversion table to my height and weight and I started hanging upside down at the 40% incline right away. From the get go I felt surprised at the relief I felt. I feel more mobile after a 3 minute session. I have been using it for two weeks now. Much to my surprise, my sacro-iliac pain seems to be gone 90% of the time. I am afraid to say that out loud, lol... My DDD pain is alright. It feels different, but I don’t want to comment as of yet as it is too soon to write about. I guess when I get to 90 degree incline, I will update my comments. I am taking it slowly as my condition is severe. All in all I see the benefits of this machine. It re-energizes me some. My physiotherapists agrees if I feel better to keep using it. Storage: it stores well. I fold it up after each use (lack of space ). I wobble it back against a wall. I am a small person and have no issues opening and closing it. Because of my specific condition, after hanging like a bat for 5 minutes, getting back into the standing position has to be done in steps. Standing upright would put the weight of my body on my back vertebrae’s and I simply cannot do that. So, I stay in the in level position or 0 degree position for a minute and then stand back up with legs slightly bent for another few minutes. The hardest part for me, is getting the feet clasp undone. It’s simply too much bending and I cannot do on my own. So I ask the hubby to standby in order to help me out of the contraption. I really recommend this inversion table. I am certain I am just scratching the surface at this point. For once, I feel like there is possibly a light at the end of my dark tunnel. Thanks Mr Teeter for this invention.

After 9 months of dealing with back and hip pain I have found a few activities at home that actually give me some relief. One is consistent stretching twice a day. The other is this inversion table. I was reluctant at first but after reading all the positive reviews I decided to give it a try. The important thing to remember is that, depending on the etiology of your pain, this is likely not going to cure the cause of your pain. It will hopefully give you some relief but that is probably all. I have found that my pain is improved for a couple of hours but then slowly comes back. As for the table itself, it is extremely well made. It is easy to put together with instructions that are easy to follow and actually written in english. The pieces (and there are a lot of them) are clearly identified. It comes with the required tools with the exception of a mallet for one step. It took me about 30 minutes to put this contraption together. It folds nicely for storage. It is VERY stable. I am average size (5'11'', 185 lbs) and feel very comfortable doing active stretches while in full inversion. There is no rocking or swaying. The foot rests and holds are very comfortable, although I would recommend wearing shoes as my feet did tend to get a little numb without them. The table is easy to adjust with simple to follow instructions so that you can change from standing to laying flat to full inversion with slight movements of your arms. With a little practice I was able to control the table and take it through all ranges of motion by moving one or both arms. The only negative criticism I would have is with regard to the "lumbar bridge" and "accupressure nodes" that came with the table. I found the lumbar support to be somewhat uncomfortable. It basically has one position and is not easy to adjust. So if it doesn't fit your back correctly it actually causes more discomfort. The pressure point balls are completely useless. I do not feel them at all when on the table and trying to get them in the right spots is very difficult. I would highly recommend this table and would purchase it again. However, I would not recommend the lumbar bridge or accupressure nodes.

Only had it for a day but my back feels better already. I Had to mention because I seen a lot of reviews that said the assembly took longer than the 15-20 minutes they suggest. Because of that kept track of my time. Here was my experience. Step 1. Opened the box unpacked all the materials and removed all packaging. (about 5 Minutes) Step 2. Took some time and removed all the packaging and had a clean work area, (about 5 Minutes) Step 3. Scanned through the DVD. I literally fast forwarded through most of the DVD hitting play occasionally at what seemed essential parts (about 5 minutes. if you watched the whole thing it would probably take about 15 minutes.) Step 4. Assembled the table. (about 5 Minutes) Really, the actual assembly took about 5 minutes. a) There are 6 screws 3 for each stretch bar and 2 more already threaded you have to tighten. b) You attach the two adjustable "pivot arms" I will call them which is just a clamp you flip to one side. c) You place the table on to the frame. It just slides in to two slots and locks in automatically. d) Then you attach the "foot bar" I will call it. Which just slides up a tube on the table and locks by a pin. e) Velcro the head rest on the table and your DONE. It was that easy, I have no idea what those other people were talking about when they say that it could not be put together in 15-20 minutes. Well they were right in a way.... it only took 5. I took another 5 minutes to adjust and balance it properly for my height and weight. Easy to adjust and covered in the DVD.

Having owned both tables I decided to write a comparison. But before you buy here's a quick exercise tip (if you are able to do safely and interested, otherwise skip to 1 below): the only thing that really helped me was doing Roman or Romanian chair back extensions. I did substitute exercises such as supermans and good mornings; however, I still had back pain and used inversion tables. After doing body weight Roman chair back extensions only a couple of times, I was mostly pain free and haven't used my inversion table in 6 months. My back is not fine or back to normal by any means but it feels a lot better and doing planks is also helpful but not a sub for back extensions in my experience. 1) Setup (Teeter better) - Teeter setup is more like plug and play although there are a few bolts. Ironman is more like assembling IKEA furniture. It wasn't too difficult but took me an hour vs. 20 min. 2) Portability (Teeter significantly better) - this was the main reason I gave Ironman 4 stars instead of 5 and almost gave 3. It is very heavy and unwieldy and hard to move (or walk) on my own. I could do it once in a while but it was a huge pain to do so every time. Also, although Ironman's a-frame folded I found it difficult to move it in the folded position due to the table wanting to rotate. Although I admit, I didn't experiment with sliding the leg extension rod all the way up. Teeter, although still heavy, is much easier to move in the folded position and it folds in a neat way. Overall, if you have a smaller space and need to put the table away frequently, it's much easier to do with Teeter. 3) Ease of use (Ironman a little better) - I found Ironman a little easier to use at first because it tends to return to starting position more easily. For Teeter, I played with different settings but mostly adjusted my technique of slight knee bend. Overall, it's not a big deal but took me a few times to get used to. 4) Comfort (similar) - The tables have different surfaces and lumbar supports but overall, I cannot say one table is more comfortable than the other, with the right adjustments, they are pretty close, perhaps a tiny edge to Teeter. 5) Support for various body types (Ironman probably better) One additional item that wasn't in the original review - I just had someone who weights more than 220 lbs (with more weight in the mid-section) use my Teeter and perhaps it was because we didn't adjust the settings correctly but the table seemed a bit unstable and it was more difficult for that person to return to the starting position. I think Ironman might be better suited in this situation. I still leave my 5 star rating for Teeter. I sold my Ironman for about half price because I was moving to a smaller place and am very happy with Teeter. Obviously $100 difference is a lot of money for some people but if you live in a smaller place that may require frequent moving of the inversion table, I strongly recommend saving yourself a huge pain and getting Teeter if you are deciding between the two.

Positive - I ordered this Inversion Table because of low back pain that kept me immobile despite of multiple treatments for 8 weeks. So, I was willing to try anything that does not involve taking more pain medications. As soon as I received this table, I have started using it every day and sometimes twice a day for 10 - 20 minutes and after about two weeks, and I am happy to say I started to feel better. I have done a lot of research before purchasing this item in order to avoid investing on a product that is useless and might end up in my garage's pile. This item is build well as far as safety is concerned, and it did help in elevating my pain, so will keep using it. Negative - I must mention that I did find it difficult/painful to bend down and unlock the locking mechanism. I found the locking mechanism handle too low and painful to try to reach down and unlock and should be improved when you design for someone with a back problem in mind. I guess , I may have to find out if I can order an attachment handle available to resolve this issue.
