Impressive yet simplr
At first about thought it was a bit basic when I opened it. Then went on to be really impressed. I have IBS and trying a low carb diet pre pre diabetes. It has a hash brown, oat flakes, gf section breads etc, full meals eg chilli, spag bol. Different berries. Pak choi, chocolate nut spread. Takeaway foods eg chicken balls etc and a vegetarian section..all the alternative milks. It doesn't have X per 100g it has pictures of a small portion and carbs etc. Without sounding a right snob, I eat reasonably well and can compute and make educated guesses at a lot of calories but can now do same with carbs with this book as I have a numbers background - but I imagine if you are someone who is obese or struggling with diabetes and never had to or never thought about numbers it must be absolutely overwhelming - be strong..you will get there! This book is really good and easy to help you with your low carb weight loss journey. It's a solid little book, yes the binding isn't great and if you flatten the pages I'm sure it will crack and the pages will drop out, but use it to look something up and write it down, it should be ok. I find by actively writing down what I eat I focus more, so it's much better to use this book and a notebook rather than an app for me, or constantly googling values. I also found it handy for the vegetable values, and a section on sauces. See video for different sections. Hope this helps someone. Yes it's a bit of money but you are payable Ng for the convenience. My last pocket calorie book has lasted me about 25 years but doesn't have carbs in it, it's that old, so it's worth getting this new version. Plus it's UK based not USA so a few Indian breads etc in there plantains etc but generally quite UK typical ingredients. I think they do a "world foods" carbs and cals version which might reflect a more diverse foods. You can't really go wrong. I now have to concentrate - so great for keto as well. I trawled loads of these books as I expect if your are ready this, you are now doing. I ignored the paper issues dropping out comments and am glad I did, I think I made the right choice. Hope this is helpful!

Great Carbohydrate and Calorie Counter, but no sugar content for type 1 & 2 diabetics?
This is a great little book listing the carbohydrates, calories, protein, fat (saturated and unsaturated) and fibre content of many commonly eaten foods and will be useful. It would have been even more useful had it contained the sugar content as well, hence it didn't get 5 stars. What were Diabetes UK thinking when they supported it? This book reflects the assumed fact that the majority of people who count carbs or calories are overweight (not true) and a bit faddish in the way it's gone straight for the carbohydrate and calorie content as the single most important factors, but left out the sugar content of every single food. Why? You had the opportunity to create a true bible, but left out the devil (and the devil as we all know, is in the detail).

Great resource but let down by the spine of the book which is suspect.
Informative little book that is useful. Negative for us is that the pages started falling out as soon as you open the book. Design fault I think.

Carbs, calories and ounces
I disliked the fact that it did not reference ounces of each item. There was only pictures and I felt like I had to guess. I returned this book to Amazon.
