RentACoop 32oz Chicken Drinker with 2 Versatile Nipples

Absolutely LOVE this product. Genius design, I was so sick of cleaning bedding chick water 3x or more a day, and this has SAVED my sanity. I am OBSESSED! Thank you for such an amazing product.

If you’re planning on using water nipples in your coop, this is the perfect water system for your brooter to teach your chicks how to use this, so when they get into the coop, they have no questions on how to find their water. It is a perfect size for a brooter with a smaller amount of chicks. It performs beautifully. There’s no leaking. This is the only water system I will ever have for my brooter. I also use it when I have a sick chicken in the house so that they know where to get their water from and you don’t water all over. We do have to place a cup underneath the water system because we had a few crazy chicks one time and they would pull it right out of the spring so that it went everywhere. Their chips were always wet so my only recommendation is to put something sturdy underneath to hold it up off the ground so that those crazy chick can’t knock it down, and it is much sturdier.

EDIT: The lid does not stay on. It pops if I use the hanger supplied with it. Overall it does not work for me. (ORIGINAL FEEDBACK) MODIFIED FEEDBACK: Rent a coop, the seller saw my original review and sent me another waterer for free with a different style hanger. Included was a note saying I probably did not have the lid snapped on all the way so they sent me one with the lid already snapped on. I had to take the lid off to get the metal hanger out of the drinker. It was very nice of them to send me another drinker. The lid is very hard for me to snap on and off. it has a little flip door for adding water so one does not have to take the lid off unless you want to clean it. They sent me a very nice hanger and holder with the replacement. The chicks learn to use it with the red waterthing readily and the water stays clean. Aside from the lid being hard to snap on and off (but it has the flip open door) it works well and is cleaner than mason jar waterers.

Excellent product. One star off only for the slide in hooks as they’re finicky and slipped out. All 32 oz of medicated water soaked into freshly changed bedding before I chose to install it on hardware wire instead. Chicks adore it though, and it put an end to the endless battle of shavings and poop in the chick waterers!!

Let me explain my review, as my ratings ranged from 2-5 stars. I had such high hopes for this for my chicks (with the main goal of getting them used to this nipple for when they’re in the coop). For the positives: It definitely keeps the shavings out of the water, which is great, and the chicks took to it fairly easy. It was easy to install and I imagine it will be easy to clean (short of sludge getting into the nipple). For the cons: it leaks which is completely frustrating for something I had such high hopes for. The entire area gets saturated with water because the chicks are hitting the silver tab so much and not able to catch all of the water that comes out when that tab moves. I have it propped up on wood that’s stacked and that wood is now completely wet. I placed a paper towel down and it’s completely drenched 4-6 hrs later. This isn’t good when you’re supposed to keep moisture away. Also, the lid to my container is not really secure (doesn’t really latch).

I have four one-month-old chicks currently using this waterer. They LOVE it... you’d think mealworms were coming out of it the way that they all “attack” it at the same time. Pros: •Adds space in your coop/cage/brooder/etc. if you hang it from the outside •The chicks can’t drown in it •The water doesn’t get dirty •It’s easy to remove and clean •It’s easy to refill from the top that opens (in between cleanings) Con: •It’s easy to overfill, which makes it seem like it’s leaking (when it’s really not). Perhaps the company could add a “fill up to here” line on the outside that could easily help mitigate this “problem” in the future. Overall, love this waterer, definitely will be purchasing more in the future.

What a wonderful product it worked for my baby chicks. The first day I brought them home. They loved it and it helps to really cut down on the mess that a normal water dish does for baby chicks. It does have a higher cost but what you save in not having to clean out and replace wet bedding constantly really makes it a great deal.
