Equine anatomical structure and terminology is universally regarded as one of the most difficult aspects of equine studies. Equine students have long been familiar with Goody's Horse Anatomy: The Pictorial Approach to Equine Structure, a textbook used in equine colleges all over the world. Now, based on this classic work, talented equestrian artist, Maggie Raynor, has prepared a workbook designed to make learning not only easier, but a lot more fun. Students are asked to label or colour various parts of the equine body in a succession of exercises covering every part of the horse and every aspect of its structure, from the skeleton to the outer surfaces. A natural stable mate to Horse Anatomy, The Horse Anatomy Workbook will assist a new generation of students to familiarize themselves with equine structure and terminology. Review: Very helpful book - I am studying Equine Massage and fancied the look of this book as a hand-on approach to learning the names of the parts (I have a dreadful memory for names). I love the way the areas are broken down in finer detail and the drawings are very clear. Others have noted that the pages are shiny which makes it difficult to colour in. I would probably photocopy the pages i'm using (purely for my own use!) that way i can revise numerous times without ruining the original. Or perhaps tracing paper can be used over the pages? Either way it is a great book and I'm going to enjoy using it. Review: Excellent workbook for helping learn the horses anatomy - This Anatomy book for the horse is a really good learning tool for students, allowing the information to be absorbed without really trying too hard as it's fun, and colouring the pictures really helps you to remember the information and where everything is located. My daughter is doing level 2 equine hopefully level 3 soon, and she really likes this book. I would definitely recommend this for students, but also for anyone who owns a horse or just wants to learn about the anatomy of the horse in general.Good value for money workbook.

Perfect for beginners
I needed this book for my equine anatomy module at university. I tend to learn best by colour-coding and so for me, this book is AMAZING! Each page has a diagram (each different in aspect and focus ect) with number-name coding; easy to colour correspondingly. I also like that it is just in black and white as it allows you to chose the right colour for you and your memory. Names for parts of the horse are given in both 'regular' terms and veterinary terms which is also very helpful for a novice!

Fantastic Work Book... easy to follow ... excellent diagrams, super fast delivery... no smoking company & smells brand new, Love this work book as the Equine Horse anatomy can be quite hard to follow but because of the neat diagrams In this book makes them so much easier to remember & you get lots of fun colouring them In...definitely a must have for students studying Equine Exams :)

valuable resource
An excellent book for learning or revising anatomy in the horse. An occasional structure is not as clearly defined as it would be in a photograph or an actual anatomy specimen, which is why i haven't given it 5 stars, but based on value for money compared to anatomy books with the same amount of photographs it is superb value for money!

Horse Anatomy Workbook
I'm a sculptor of two things: the equestrian and human form, and as such, two matters are very important to me, proportion and anatomy. I recently encountered another creative door I had to go through with the horse, better proportion. I have loads of books on Human anatomy, but not one on the horse, just downloaded pics and illustrations of such from the internet. My next major project warrants a galloping horse, and for this I need great illustrations and anatomically correct proportion. This workbook fits the bill and will serve me well now and in the future; it's a great workbook.

Detailed and impressive!
I purchased this workbook (and the corresponding book) as supplements to a high school equine science course I have created for my homeschooled daughter. In addition, she is in a dual credit program in college, where she earns high school and college credit at the same time. Because my daughter is an equine science and barn management major as well as a passionate horse lover, this workbook is especially helpful for high school, college, and beyond. The workbook is divided into eight parts: overview; skeleton; ligaments, muscles, and tendons; blood vessels and lymph nodes; the nervous system; the head; the foot; and viscera. Each part is further divided into sections within the eight parts. For example, the skeleton is divided into fifteen sections that cover such things as the pelvic girdle, the thigh and leg, the hock, and the skull. What I really like about the book is that when it is opened, on the right page you see the drawings which are labeled with numbers and letters. Then on the left page the numbers and letters are written along with the identified body parts. When my daughter is trying to learn the parts of the horse or studying for a test, she can look at the drawings and not see the names of the body parts, only the specified letters or numbers. That way, she can practice identifying parts without having to cover up all the names. She can simply cover up the page on the left which lists the names. The workbook can be used as a study guide, practice book, test book, reference book, and even an advanced coloring book. The very detailed pictures and identified parts of the horse are drawn in black and white, not color. I like this feature because I can create assignments in which my daughter can identify various bones, muscles, organs, etc. by coloring them. After high school and college, the workbook can become a part of my daughter's horse reference library. I strongly recommend this workbook for students from high school to college and for current or future horse owners who want to learn more horse anatomy in order to better care for their horses.
