A practical guide to letting go of the character defects that get in the way of true and joyful recovery. Resentment. Fear. Self-Pity. Intolerance. Anger. As Bill P. explains, these are the "rocks" that can sink recovery--or at the least, block further progress. Based on the principles behind Steps Six and Seven, Drop the Rock combines personal stories, practical advice, and powerful insights to help readers move forward in recovery. The second edition features additional stories and a reference section. Review: Specialist publication - for those working a 12-step program. - I'm going to assume that you are looking at this because you're working a 12-step program, or have some knowledge of them. If not then it's going have no context to you, unless you want use this to start working one. I'm not saying you couldn't but there are better places to start. This is for working steps six and seven. For which it is unique and by default the best ever. I'll stop being clever about it - for those so called forgotten steps, I cannot praise it enough. At time of writing I am coming towards the end of treatment and beginning, hopefully, my career, in a residential rehabilitation centre. This book has helped every person who has ever read it that I have heard of. It is the single most recommended book to read (other than the Big Book, but that's compulsory) within the rehab. This review represents 5 stars from many, many people. If you're working it and worth it, so is DTR. Review: Utterly brilliant insight into Step6/7 - A game changer in my recovery- wise insightful easy to understand. Propels you into action and enables the letting go process to really begin - a must read for anyone who has slipped through these two key steps …

The 12 steps stopped me drinking
Once I surrendered that I was powerless over my drinking, I was able to follow the suggestions in the 22 step AA Program, and after working the program to thee best of my ability, the obsession to drink was completely removed! This book helps with that procress. The program was aa lifesaver!

Find out your assets and defects!
For me the book's not about ripping yourself apart about faults and failings you discover in yourself. But also finding virtue and value in yourself. Ok its fine to get rid of the rock of defects you're holding on to. But also to replace them with assets! Nobody's perfect though, esp. not me!

eye opener of what is really deep down within me
This book is fantastic for any recovering alcoholic, or anyone in recovery struggling. It helps one get a deep understanding of what humility is and how we really can change. It is very easy to read, and all 120 pages are very thought provoking and helpful. Including Joe Mcquancy's idea and experience of drop the rock. This is the best book i have come along to help work step six and seven of the twelve step programme.

Revealing Game Changer.
Absolutely mind blowing and if you’re interested in getting deep and at an understanding the Big Book or 12 by 12 don’t come near ... this is the tool. It’s been a revelation and transformation. So grateful I came across it. After 20 years in the fellowship this has been a game changer for me.

Ich finde es ist ein sehr gutes Buch. Zum Glück hat die Lieferung bei weitem nicht solange gedauert wie zunächst angekündigt.
