These work fantastic for both portable TCL ac units we have with 5.9" exhaust hoses. When you initially get them they stink like the rubber they are made from. We let it air out, outside for a day and then put them on and went nose blind to the smell within an hour. Don't smell it after a couple days use at all when coming home now. They insulate extremely well which was actually surprising for as thin as they are and the gray color makes them look really nice. They are definitely an exact fit so make sure you take a tape measure to the exaught hose so you order the correct size. Upon writing this I realized I never received the elastic bands that are supposed to come with this. Luckily the fit was so exact it's tight on its own it's not going anywhere anytime soon. Make sure you get them when they arrive.

I have no idea why I didn’t buy a hose cover sooner. My portable AC is setup to reach the window with only about two feet of hose and even with that little bit exposed, the heat coming from the hose can easily be felt behind the unit when running. This literally fights the AC while it is trying to cool the room and is probably worse than having a window leak since it is so hot. For everything to run efficiently you don’t want any air leaks into the room etc, and I even have an under door draft guard installed and window foam to seal everything up. Before the hose cover, and it took about 45 minutes to really feel a difference in a stagnant heat soaked 95 degree room. Now the AC cools the room in half the time, and I noticed the compressor does not need to kick on nearly as often after long periods of running also. Pays for itself with the cost savings on the electric bill for sure! As far as fitment goes, it’s a firm fit and best to lay the hose straight on a surface when installing. The color blends right in and the material is thick with nice quality stitching. I couldn’t be happier and have no idea why I spent all these years without something like this.

Last year I made my own wrap out of a blanket, some mylar, and some foil tape. That was a terrible pain and so I just bought the highest rated one here. This hose has been great for my portable A/C unit. It's thick enough to insulate the heat very well, but flexible enough to contour to the hose. The stitching is really robust, and the neoprene(?) is actually really durable. Looks fine in the bedroom, and the light grey is a very neutral color. It was pretty easy to put on, but I docked a star because it was a little difficult to get it wrapped around a full 6" hose. The velcro is barely holding on in some parts. Not only is it inexpensive, but I'm going to save the cost in efficiency over a single season, so the price is great. Totally worth buying.

I have a longer run of hose than normal just due to where the Floor A/C is situated and where the with exhaust window is located. I notice the room where the hose was mostly in was very warm due to radiant heat from the hose. Saw this insulation, ordered 2, and it has done the job nicely, quality is nice, works well, room where exhaust hose is in now, maybe notice a little warmth but nothing like it use to be and the Room cools down faster!!! A real PLUS I feel!! So I rate this product A+++++++

I wish I had known about this product years ago. It has made a very good difference in cooling my home. It’s a mobile home which gets very hot even with a roof. My ac ran and ran and it would still be uncomfortable but the insulation was a game changer. Easy to fit on. It does stink REALLY bad at first. Leave it outside for a couple of days and it fades. It’s a great purchase!

They are closed loops and can’t be put on unless the hose is disconnected. My hoses have a diameter of 5.9 inches, and this product is a tight fit. My hoses also have two almost 90-degree bends, so I had to disconnect them, straighten them out, and then apply the insulation while the hoses were straight for the easiest application. The material doesn’t like to bend much initially, but I was able to slowly spread it out over my curved hoses. **Smell:** Normally, I disregard reviews claiming a horrific smell upon opening because the smell usually disappears quickly. This product is an exception. It has a strong smell that doesn’t fade easily. I get used to it after about 10 minutes, but every time I leave the room and return, it’s like a slap in the face. It's been 2 days as of this review. **Quality:** The quality is questionable. The material is thin and the stitching is basic, something anyone without experience with a sewing machine could sew. However, despite these drawbacks, this product really works. The hoses look more aesthetically pleasing and feel cooler to the touch. Within a couple of hours, I noticed a difference in the efficiency of my unit’s cooling after installing these. **Customization:** For my double hose unit, I just cut the insulation in half with normal scissors without issue and the material held up well. Overall, despite some flaws, this insulation significantly improved the performance of my portable AC unit.

This is a an absolute great product that does what it is designed to do and that is to seal the hot exhaust air from a portable AC unit hose to vent it outside, yes like some reviews I saw before I purchased this had said it is tight to wrap around the hose but in my opinion that is what also has made it an excellent product too! We worked to get it wrapped for sure but now it totally blocks all heated air exiting that hose and has none escaping into the air conditioned room! Well worth it for sure, just realize you will "work" toe get it wrapped but it does fit, just very snugly which when done turns it into a product that does what it's supposed to do! Thanks Guys

This is a must-have product if you have a portable air conditioner. It will greatly increase the efficiency of your unit. The product I purchased came in a 1-pack. You don’t need to cut it or anything like the other reviewer did. It’s Velcro and adjustable so you just fold it over on itself and Velcro it so it’s the right length. The Velcro is reversible that’s on it so it works both ways! And it insulates more without having to cut anything if it’s too long for your hose when you roll it over to the right length. The smell is like a wet suit. Neoprene. It faded after a couple days. Lingers for a few weeks faintly and after about a month it’s unnoticeable. I’m sensitive to smells so this is the worst part of it, but it insulates well. Noise. It reduced the noise by about 20db from the hose and the AC. I was very impressed. Make sure all the hose is covered by it to get maximum noise insulation. The insulation works. It’s incredibly effective. Normally we would have a ton of heat coming from the back of the AC unit which would make the AC work harder, but this cover blocks out about 95% of the heat that would have been emitted by the hose. It also has a couple straps to help us seal it near the area where we connected it to the outside and the AC doesn’t need to work as hard when the rooms get cool so it’s quieter there as well. Overall this product is something I never considered and I wish I bought it years ago. I’ll keep this for as long as I use portable AC units and will recommend everyone with a portable AC to get something like this to improve the look and efficiency of their AC.

I recommend getting one designed for a larger diameter hose. It fits perfectly on a straight hose, but once the hose is bent, the Velcro comes apart. A larger diameter allows enough room for the hose to bend without stressing the velcro fastening.
