Prepared and Ready for 5th Grade!
We purchased this for our daughter to use over the summer to prepare for fifth grade. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, allowing her to complete the work independently. She understood the material well and felt confident and prepared for fifth grade after the break!

Great workbooks
Spectrum workbooks have helped my granddaughter become a straight a student in school the past 2 years. I am not these workbooks for 2 to 3 years and would continue to do so. I would heavily suggest them!

Good activities but could use more help understanding words and their meaning
The words are pretty easy and we like the activities. There are a few things lacking: The first page is just writing down the words; There is no vocabulary review; There is no place to actually take a spelling test. We use this for homeschooling and there are 4 pages per lesson. This is how we use each page and how we supplement: Day 1: Page 1 - Write and say the words (We accompany this with looking up and writing the definitions for each word. There’s a handy dictionary in the back.) Day 2: Page 2 - Use the words in a story. (This is a good fill in the blank activity. But before we do this, we review what the words mean and write our own sentences. This is the toughest page for us so we have to do these pre-activities we created to make sure my daughter understands the words first. These are activities we do on our own-not in the book.) Day 3: Page 3 - Write words that fit each description, introduction to new words (This page includes some phonetics and some related challenge words) Day 4: Page 4 - Use the words to write a story Day 5: We do a spelling test (This is not in the book)

Great Spelling workbook!
Love this workbook for spelling for homeschooling. Each lesson starts with a spelling list of 15 words to write out, followed by 3 pages of exercises, and a 2 page review every few lessons. We have a spelling test after each lesson is completed about every 2 weeks. There are 22 lessons total. So far, my daughter likes it! It seems to just teach all the spelling 'tricks' and it's not too much work.
