Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Game of the Year 2009 Edition (PS3)

Got this game brand new sealed Game of the Year Edition and the reason was for the free download with the 4 Extra maps for the multiplayer mode(£7.99 to get on the PS Network). When entered the code on the leaflet inside the instructions it came up saying code invalid so after a few times trying(With the game sealed and brand new I thought surely nobody has used it) I actually contacted Activison which they then told me the code expired in Feb 2011 and was valid for only 2 years and they couldn't help me bought this game brand new for the extra maps and could have saved a few quid and got it second hand and the got the maps for all the same price I got the game brand new!!! (also contacted the seller who was very helpful and said he has never had any problems with anybody else's copy and I should keep harrasing activision) so maybe I was a bit unlucky either way I didn't let this spoil what I think is a brilliant game nether less as a massive fan of both MW2 and MW3 I got this to finish my collection (Only discovered COD in 2010) if your a fan of both these games then I highly recommended this one. Just be careful if you get the GOTY edition and the map pack don't work. Nigel

I came to this entry to the franchise a few years too late - hugely enjoyable and a much better game than COD - Ghosts.

game of the year edition should include variety map pack but this one did not. but who am i to say, i bought this product many years after the games release. physical disc and box in perfect condition. if you are playing this for online, good luck to you, very difficult to find a match that is not hacked. you are better off playing the later iterations of modern warfare. but if you are here for the story, you have come to the right place. I can't remember a cod game with a decent story.

I bought here on Amazon UK, but didn't receive the GOTY Edition, instead getting the regular (2007) release. However, COD 4 MW still remains one of the best videogames ever made. When I first bought a copy of the game back on it's launch day in November 2007, I had no idea of the unsurpassed PS3 game thrills contained therein. Each level's thrills build up incrementally, ensuring there are almost no calm moments and only thrilling set pieces. The graphics still stand up today, although they look even more amazing on the PS4 upgrade screenshots. The NPCs within the game are useless at taking down threats, making you do so by yourself - and there are TONS of "bad guys" shooting at you, lobbing grenades and RPGs (grrrrr!). I wish it had a vibration function as it would be amazing using the Dual Shock 3's vibration function, especially when switching on slow-motion! COD 4 is still a masterpiece.

Bought it to try it out, Like it a lot, still play it from time to time and i'm not a big fan of FPSs.

CoD4 Modern Warfare is a great game - intense and exciting. Is it the best one though? I haven't played any of the more recent CoDs so I can't compare with them. MW is certainly action packed with a good range of weapons, and the graphics are better than the previous ones, but I retain a strong affection for CoD3. CoD3 has more single player game-play and, although the graphics are not as good, CoD3 feels like it has more very intense combat. The scenarios are more varied in CoD3 and I personally find it more involving. Just my opinion. CoD4 MW is great. If you like it you should also try Cod3

love this game, perfect copy.......... just shame theres an ongoing issue that needs fixing by activison!!!!! stopping me going online with unless i turn my rounter off then on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but aprt from the perfect!!

Once I received my game I came to play it and found out the disc was faulty nothing was mentioned in the ad so was very disappointed with this I did eventually get a refund but would of preferred the game
