12-16V Underwater Thruster U2 Set,Thrust 7.5 Lbs

I bought this because I am a 50 year old guy and love to fish from my kayak but was limited to my range I could go. Now, I can sit at ease and control my kayak like a video game. These thrusters are awesome. I installed them with ease. I have used them on one fishing trip so far and they allowed me more control and freedom with my hands. I caught 15 bass. They worked flawlessly and lasted for my entire 5 hour fishing cruise around the lake. I power it with a 100 amp LiFpo battery. I recommend them. The only problem I has was in some shallow weeds. But after I got out of them I put the trustees on reverse and it cleared the weeds out of the thrusters. They are perfect for me. I put them on a Pelican Catch 100 kayak.

This is a GREAT VALUE . I decided to share this with everyone because I haven't seen anyone else do this . I wanted a way to put these up for launching and docking and weeds or rocks , just like you do with your paddle drive which this modular kayak also has fin drive. You may notice the left motor is on the wrong side of the mount which I didn't realize till after the video, but you get the Idea . The one on the right is correct. This gives you a parallel thruster position just below the boat , without hitting the side. The unit was very well packaged and really seems high quality. It's not going to real fast , but nice and quite for fishing. Make sure you don't mount the thrusters to high or they'll create cavitation , and lose efficiency. I wanted a battery box that has it all together for simplicity and tidiness.

Im really impressed with this setup for under 200. It is quality and besides figuring out how to attach the motor pods its totally plug and play.

I just installed both thrusters and they seem to function. Will adjust rating if needed as time goes on if anything changes. Will add more information once used on the water. I mounted my thrusters centerline on the port and starboard to maximize turn authority. We will see if this was a proper location with time.

Look if this thing were any more expensive I would be extremely disappointed but it’s a budget motor. It doesn’t turn very well at all and the motors are glitchy, along with barely fitting in the mount. It also completely fails to keep up with any sort of waves and wind. I was out on a lake and I was getting pushed further and further from shore because it just wouldn’t keep up with any slight waves. On a super calm pond and day, sure you can use it but don’t rely on it. Go with the bigger option if you are doing anything more serious. I would return it if it were an easy process.

So excited to get this for my kayak and it looks like it was previously returned and marked "Bad!! Smokes" on one of the cables! How could this even get shipped out?!?! Extremely disappointed!!
