High Quality, Excellent Design
Over the last decade, I've bought lots of furniture online and reviews are everything so, shopper to online shopper, here's what I'd like to know before buying the Zinus Misty--The bed is high quality and well designed. No one is going to believe what I paid for this bed. The fabric is thick and looks like a nice silk with just a little sheen. The tufting is the real deal with actual folds of fabric in the actual right spots. Most button tufting on lower end beds is more button dimpling-- a single sheet of fabric, button pushed through with some wrinkles around the indent. Real tufting requires more fabric, you start from the middle and fold and sew buttons as you go. It's more labor intensive, higher end and it shows. This is the real deal and it makes my decorator heart happy. The bed arrives in a big, single box that has 2 layers of cardboard and a plastic bag to protect the fabric. Yes, everything is zipped into the back which is why it's so heavy. Take out the slats first and it gets more manageable. If you empty the headboard and cart everything piece by piece, it's no problem for one person to take the headboard into the room.Once you get that heavy box into the house, it's a one person job. I cut the tape on the box and slide the headboard out standing upright with the plastic still on, then carefully lowered it face down onto a couple of throw blankets, then cut just the back of the plastic off to reach the zipper and unload the innerds. The bed goes together easily as long as you remember to loosen the bolts and don't tighten until the sides are in place. It took an hour with the included hex thingie and that included extra time because I did *not* loosen those bolts enough and played ring around the rosie several times to get it right. It's probably a 20-30 minute job if you remember the bit about those bolts. The slats on velcro are a marvel and took about 60 seconds to roll out. There's a really cool little hex ratchet tool included but I never used it. The legs are plastic but they're heavy duty and they don't show. If I were really picky, I'd just run up to a big box store and buy some wooden legs. If that's the only shortcut they took to get this bed to this price point, then thank you Zinus. The pictures show those lovely folded fabric button tufts and the beige color in lamplight against a wall painted in Sherwin Williams Wool Skein. The second pictures shows the bed with the mattress. For reference, that mattress is 8" and those bedside tables are 22". Measurements in the description are accurate and if you have a thick mattress or need a higher headboard, this may not be your best option. Personally, I love the lower profile and it really makes the room feel open. This is probably my favorite online furniture purchase ever. Thank you Zinus for providing a lovely, affordable upholstered bed :)

Really happy with my purchase!
I'm glad that I did a lot of research before purchasing. This was not my original choice, simply because I like the look of other headboards a little better. However, good quality and good customer service will ultimately win me over, and I feel great about this decision. We had recently purchased a King size Nectar mattress, which is 13 inches tall. So, I was worried that I wouldn't like how high my mattress came up on the headboard, since it recommended up to a 12 inch mattress. You will also notice (from the pics) that I really love throw pillows too! My husband does construction work though so I knew he could alter it if needed. In the end I am pretty pleased with how it looks and don't think I will have hubby alter. My husband did, however, add supports to the base slats. He felt it needed more support for a king size mattress, so he added an additional middle slat as well as some bracing that went from head to foot along the floor. This was for added protection and may or may not be needed. We did use the bed frame for a few days without those alterations with our old mattress while waiting for our Nectar to arrive and it felt very sturdy and we had no issues. So, I guess, take what you will for that. It is the only "con" we had, where we felt that the slats were lacking for such a long span on the king size. My hubby is a perfectionist and will go above and beyond to make a product even better, so I am lucky in that regard. The headboard is really nice and the legs seem very sturdy. I think for the price of this bed frame, this is well worth it. The color is nice, maybe slightly darker than I wished, simply because my bedding is a natural linen and I was hoping the headboard matched more closely. But still it is a nice linen color and every day, I am happy to go into my room and see my cozy bed!

Easiest assembly I've ever experienced
First, I must rave about how this bed was packaged. When I first opened the box, I was surprised to see ONLY the headboard. While the weight belied the contents, it became evident when I unzipped the lining on the back of the headboard. All of the other parts were packaged within the sturdy headboard frame very efficiently. The parts were easily removed.I've assembled a lot of furniture and cabinets, and this was BY FAR the simplest and easiest assembly I've ever done. As usual, the written instructions were accurate, but difficult to visualize in 3d. However, the instructions also included a barcode (QR code) that opened a video that was PERFECT. Even still, once the first 4 pieces were assembled, the rest was very instinctive and instructions weren't needed. With the exception of 5 screws used to fortify the legs of the inner frame, all the screws and hardware were already in the pieces, so there was little left to the imagination.I still have to buy a mattress, so I haven't used the bed yet. However, it feels sturdier than the much more costly bed I purchased at a higher end furniture store. The photo I included only has half the slats installed so you can see how the frame holds the 4 sides together.Next day . . . So now that I've read other reviews, I have two comments. There are many people who complained that the headboard was way lower than they expected. In my case, I wanted a headboard to fit under existing wall hangings (see my photo). I specifically measured and the specified height was exactly as advertised. So, unless they received something other than what was specified, it makes me think they never bothered to measure. Second, there was a comment that the mattress covers the bottom row of buttons on the backboard. Here, the reviewer did point out something I didn't take into account. There is a 10" gap from the slats to the bottom of the upholstered section, so they are right. I haven't bought my mattress yet, but it will, in fact, be 12" and overlap the bottom. Not a big deal for me, but relevent!
