I mainly chose this speaker because I have other UE speakers that would pair easily with it. And also for it's ruggedness water proof qualities. I like the color scheme as well. The build quality is exactly what I expect from UE being built very well. I've seen some people say it's big and a bit heavy but honestly, I don't think it's too heavy at all and I'm able to throw it in my backpack very easily if I wanna take it anywhere. The built in magnetic carry strap I'm sure helps with toting it around. I also appreciate the upright design vs the more spread out design of something like the JBL speakers because it takes up less space on a dresser or shelf. The sound quality to me is pretty good for what it is. I've not tested it at full volume yet as I've mostly used it in my bedroom so far and I have to keep the volume down as to not disturb my neighbors. But at about 25% volume, it sounds very punchy and crisp with the highs. It handles mid bass extremely well, but the low bass isn't as distinct. But that's to be expected with a speaker of this size. Overall, it's enough to resonate through whatever surface it's sitting on. I've also noticed that the acoustics of the room you're in effect the sound too. It sounds much better in a larger room vs something like the bathroom. And having it in a corner helps too as the mid/tweeter speakers are off to the sides while the woofer is in the front. Outdoor mode I really don't care for, but I haven't actually tested it outside so I'm not sure if it really helps or not. The battery life seems to be good too. I've been using it for 2 weeks now without charging it and have only used 1 bar out of the 3 on the battery indicator. I haven't had any connectivity issues at all. And it has an NFC function where you can tap your phone on the top of the speaker to turn it on and pair it automatically. I'll probably update my review once I can take the speaker somewhere and REALLY turn it up with some different genres of music. Other than that, I like it a lot and I recommend giving it a look.

I previously used two Sony SRS-XB43 speakers as my main Hifi in my RV trailer. I found that they sound great, but are very unstable as a pair. In use, they disconnect randomly, have problems keeping the stereo pair, and are absolutely TERRIBLE for listening, when getting interrupted several times a day. Bluetooth is weird, has all sorts of problems, and it's impossible to know why it misbehaves. There are definitely issues with older Bluetooth, and compatibility issues betwen older and newer bluetooth. Whatever, I decided to say goodbye to Sony, and get two more Boom speakers to add to my two BOOM3. Now, I have 4 boom speakers, I can easily use in party-mode. So far, it works great. No dropping, and no weird bluetooth issues. A great deal on black friday sale, i'm happy I now have a good long-term audio solution.

I work in a test cell working on hydraulic pumps and motors, a very loud brick room. This thing rocks, I have ear pro on in a room with background noise of 92+ db in any given corner and I can hear the music just fine. The sound is great in normal conditions as well. I wish it had an actual aux in port, otherwise I love it.

Used it a couple of times outdoors and it was quite fulfilling.

It’s an all around great speaker for what you’re getting. The price is definitely fair But I also have a UE hyper boom for at home or parties & if that’s what you’re looking for then I’d recommend the hyper boom because the bass & sound quality is unmatched. Pairing them together is great

Sound is 10 out of 10. Although the NFC feature is a 0 out of 10. It's the stupidest thing I have seen on a Bluetooth speaker. If Mimi connected to the speaker and set my phone on the speaker it disconnects from the speaker because of NFC. No way to turn it off from what I can find. Would not recommend until NFC is removed or it gets an update where it can be turned off. Might even return mine because of it.

This speaker has to be one of the best in its size. It definitely has a deep bass which is perfect for watching movies, listening to music, especially indoors. It sounds like it was a subwoofer in there this is awesome. The audio is clear and almost feels like a blessing to my ears. I did have to touch the eq a bit to have it sound exactly how I wanted it and it’s perfect now. I own a UE Hyperboom and a JBL boombox 3 and this little guy sounds as close as it can get to those 2. In terms of sound quality these are really close the only difference is the volume, the hyperboom and boombox will be a lot louder of course. Battery life seems to be very competent as I could use it for a whole day of playing music and not running out of battery

Just amazing speaker — so much power in this package!

Excellent quality for build and sound. The app could use some improvements, and the battery could be a bit better as well. But the performance is top notch.

Excellent sound quality, deep bass, and strong battery life.

The bass is really good, the build is amazing, it connects to other speakers really easily and well (there is zero lag when you connect to other speakers and sounds really good) one thing to note is that the bass comes out the front and the music comes out of the sides for all around sound. Some people will love that but for me it makes it harder to just be loud in one direction. It also is about as loud as my boom 3 which is loud, just not loud enough for this type of speaker.

Love this speaker. Sounds great m, it’s portable we always take it with us to Mexico.

This works well. Loud enough, but not crazy bass… it still has a great amount of bass but not like the much larger Ultimate Ears speakers(obviously). It’s used in the bathroom, bedroom, soccer pitch, it goes everywhere! Perfectly portable.
