If mounted Horizontally in 2nd story soffit outside corner, what is the motion degree of range and distance

Hello, we generally recommend the installation height of 2.5m, too high will make the motion distance shorten; in addition, the eave installation will make the sensor is not horizontally facing the motion area, which will also make the induction distance shorten. Maybe only have 20ft. We don't recommend you install here.

Yes, it's made in China... like most everything else.

Can it be eave mounted without a junction box?

You could but it would be a rig. A surface junction box is only 2" deep and it will be a clean and secure install.
