Fantastic on the Meze 99 Classics!
I wear my Meze 99 Classics for hours on end each day for work and found that my ears were getting a bit sore from touching the headphones because the stock ear cups were compressing so much. I wanted a thicker replacement and, having previous experience with Brainwavz on other headphones, purchased these and am super happy with them! I love the velour face so you can wear it comfortably for longer (though I personally never had an issue with heat or the original leather face, but still an improvement nonetheless) and the leather walls to retain the original sound signature. These earpads are about 1cm thicker than stock when put on the headphones and are, in general, bigger than stock and I find them to be perfect for me. They look like a loose fit but I can assure you that they are secure and will not come off with use. Fantastic replacement earpads that were a breeze to put on!

Has The Benefits of Pleather and Velour - Comfort Is Top Notch - Totally Worth The Price
At this point the Brainwavz earpads are well known and well regarded in terms of comfort, quality, and sound. There are many reviews for the pleather and velour versions of these pads, which you can find here: Brainwavz HM5 Velor Memory Foam Replacements Earpads - Suitable For Many Other Branded Large Over The Ear Headphones - AKG, HifiMan, ATH, Philips, Fostex Brainwavz Replacement Memory Foam Earpads - Suitable For Many Other Large Over The Ear Headphones - AKG, HifiMan, ATH, Philips, Fostex There was also a post about those earpads on Cnet's Audiophiliac blog. I was looking into these to use with a newly purchased pair of Audio Technica ATH-M50x, which you can see here: Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Professional Studio Monitor Headphones Basically, I was having an extremely hard time deciding between the velour and pleather options. On the one hand, pleather makes my ears sweat a lot, which is extremely uncomfortable. On the other hand, velour provides less noise isolation, and I intended to use these headphones almost exclusively on the go. Velour also reduced bass response compared to pleather. For me this was a concern, but a secondary one to comfort. I went back and fourth for a while, but eventually found this hybrid pair on Brainwavz website. They have velour where they touch your ears, and pleather on the inside (perforated) and outside. These are very similar to the earpads that Hifiman is using on their newer high end models, and they are called focus pads. In any case, these seemed like they would offer the best of both worlds for my needs, and were only slightly more expensive than the non-hybrid versions, so I bought a pair. I have to say, I am extremely happy I made this choice. As many others have noted, the difference in comfort is day and night. I found the stock pads on the ATH-M50x to be okay, but not very comfortable. They didn't fit completely around my ears, and they were relatively shallow, putting pressure on my head. The small pleather pads also made my ears sweat quickly. After only one day with the stock pads my Brainwavz already arrived so I switched immediately. The process of swapping the pads is not super easy, but pretty much anyone can do it with a little fiddling. With the Brainwavz on, my Audio Technica's easily became the most comfortable headphone's I own. Before the pads, they were only slightly (though still noticeably) more comfortable than my Monoprice headphones which cost less than $20. The Brainwavz earpads are nice and thick, and extremely soft. They really do feel like pillows on your head. The velour feels great against my skin, and the noise isolation is completely adequate for my needs. You still hear everything around you, but it's muted enough to enjoy the music. As for sound, I think most people make a slightly bigger deal about it than they need too. Yes, the sound is slightly different, but the difference is not huge. It is definitely not better or worse though, so whether you like it more or less is really up to your personal preference. As others have noted, the bass is slightly less strong. There is more room between your ears and the drivers with this pad, and the perforated pleather probably also softens it a bit. The drop in bass is only slight, and it isn't any less accurate. For me the Brainwavz pads also made the mids a little more smooth. Ultimately, YMMV. But the most important thing I can say about the sound is that you shouldn't worry too much about it (for what it's worth I don't know if the same can be said about the velour pads, I haven't tried them myself). Get these if you want to exponentially increase the comfort of your headphones. A short anecdote. I recently took these on a flight with me. The flight was delayed for 5 hours so we got on the plane tired from sitting in an airport. Then we found out the air conditioning on the plane wasn't working so it was extremely hot. The plane took off and I put on my Audio Technica's. (For those curious I was listening through a Fiio E17 connected to my iPhone digitally using Apple's Camera Connection Kit). After a few minutes, I was completely into my music. The pads blocked out just enough of the engine noise to let me hear my songs, and they felt great on my head. I listened for at least 2 hours straight, and despite the plane being extremely hot, and listening to my music relatively loud (to compensate for the engine noise), I was still feeling comfortable at the end. The velour kept my ears from sweating and the headphones didn't even feel stuffy! The sound quality was great and honestly, after that flight I knew 100% that I had made the right decision. Conclusion (TLDR): These are extremely satisfying earpads that will transform the comfort level of any headphone you put them on. Additionally, if you like the feel of velour but prefer the sound/isolation of pleather, these hybrid pads are literally perfect. It's totally worth the $25 I paid and I will recommend these to all my friends.

Comfortable but...
My experience with these earpads have been a hate-love relationship. Despite their great comfort, it alters the sound signature of the ATH-M50X. I got these earpads for my ATH-M50X as the stock pleather pair had eroded. Installing them were very easy for me and it didn't even take 5 minutes. Pros: +More Comfort +Wider Sound Stage +Easy Installation +After EQ tinkering, sounds better than stock pads Cons: -Loss of Bass -Harsh Highs -Harsh Mids Comfort: These are very comfortable. They are softer and thicker than the stock pads that came with the ATH-M50X and they cover my entire ear. The previous pads didn't do this and just tip of my ear would have pressure after prolonged use. Comparing these with the velour pads on the Sennheiser HD598, the pads on the HD598 are more comfortable only because the texture of the velour is softer. If I were to sweat while dancing the HM5 velour pads would itch but not to the point of discomfort. The texture difference also have these as a dust magnet. This doesn't annoy me so it would not affect my score. Sound: Bass The bass absolutely disappeared with these pads. I read some reviews of other M50X owners who used it and they reported a slight change but in my experience the change is great. Mids The mids came forward in a large way from the 'V' signature it had before. Sadly it was too forward to the point of being harsh and it made the vocal of both male and female artiest to sound metallic. Highs Sibilance became a huge issue after putting these pads on. The highs became too harsh and made the listening experience very unpleasant. Sound Stage A good improvement. The sound stage widen up quite nicely and instrument separation became more transparent. This is the only 'out of the box' change that pleased me. Conclusion: I love how much more comfortable the ATH-M50X became with these pads. Although they are not as comfortable as the velour pads on the HD 598 (only by a texture difference), they are still a very comfortable pair. The sound signature was changed dramatically for me that made me consider returning them but with some tinkering I 'fixed' it. I installed Equalizer APO on my Windows 10 system that allows me to have a global equalizer across all applications. I have been able to bring the bass back and fix the other issues. The wider sound stage remained which I would say makes these headphones sound better than with the stock pads. Despite finding the right settings on the EQ, it is only on one device. I also have a Fiio X1 that I connect to the car as well and switching between EQs for the car audio, the ATH-M50X and the HD 598 is a hassle. I would only recommend these if you are willing to tinker with the EQ to fit your preference and don't have multiple devices or headphones to switch between.

Breath of Fresh Air for Meze 99 Neos
I have been into audio for decades. Honestly, the stock Meze 99 Neos disappointed me at first. I love a warm sounding set of cans, fan of the V shape sound profile, but out of the box the bass was too loose. It bled all over the midrange and buried female vocals. I almost returned the cans, but these Brainwavz Hybrid pads combined with some EQ work completely turned them around. The Pads The stock Meze pads are just too shallow. My ears were hitting the drivers. These Brainwavz Hybrids (Black PU/Velour) give my ears room to breathe. Since they are hybrids, the leather sides maintain the seal for bass impact - very "punchy" bass depending on your cans, but the velour face smooths out the sound and is much cooler on the skin. Just swapping these in cleaned up a lot of the mud immediately. The Tuning (EQ APO + Peace) The pads fixed the physical issues, but the software dialed it in. I used Equalizer APO with the Peace interface to finish the job. - The EQ: With the pads clearing up the bloat, I was able to boost the sub-bass while cutting the mid-bass slightly. Now the drums punch hard. I mean physically hard. But they stop fast without lingering. - The Crossfeed: This was the key for the vocals. I turned on the Crossfeed feature in Peace (0.2/Jan Meier). It centers the imaging so it sounds more like stereo speakers than headphones. Female vocals that used to sound distant are now front and center. They are lush and crystal clear. Bottom Line If you want to keep that deep, punchy bass without losing the detail in the vocals, get these pads and spend ten minutes tuning them. It makes a massive difference. It keeps smooth, non-fatiguing sound many would appreciate. These and Equalizer APO + Peace saved me $600+ from buying Denon D5200s, which are probably similar. TL;DR - These are worth the money at $25, very comfortable, and won't mess up your cans, even if you don't EQ them (but you should).

These work for the HyperX CloudX Flight
I bought these for the HyperX CloudX Flight because the stock earcups are rather shallow. After reading many, many reviews, I decided to try out the suede ones. Pros 1. Intensely comfortable. The microsuede material is soft to the touch and feels good against the side of my head. 2. The suede ones also use memory foam, so after a few seconds, the fit is exceptional. 3. The CloudX Flights no longer slide around on my head. 4. My ears no longer press up against the driver enclosure like they did on HyperX's pads. 5. Relatively cheap and easily available. I can't tell you how many headphones I've owned where good replacements are easy to find like this. 6. I can hear the room around me when I mute the headset, but I can't hear it if I have any sound playing. So, not perfect sound isolation, but definitely good enough. No complaints there. Neutral 1. The sound signature does change a bit. The bass gets a tough more boomy and the treble gets a touch less punchy. I suspect it's just a function of my ears being further away from the drivers. I actually quite like the difference, it sounds like a more refined version of what the CloudX Flights sounded like before. It doesn't seem to change the sound signature, but rather it feels like it calms down a lot of the harshness in the high end while boosting the low end every so slightly. I quite like it and makes it much easier to listen to stuff for a longer period of time before becoming fatigued. I also acknowledge that this change may not be a positive one for all headphones. Your mileage may vary. 2. Installation can be a bit of a pain. These do fit and they fit just fine. However, I had to trim off a bit of the material off of the back in order to make it fit. The notch where the headphones connect simply wasn't deep enough. It isn't a big deal, but if you use a HyperX product, you may need scissors for installation. Cons 1. I was hoping a cloth ear cup would cool these down a little bit. The velour might, but the suede does not. They still get a bit toasty after some use, just like the stock ear cups. 2. Since the pads are literally twice as thick as the stock ones, it does increase the lateral pressure (clamp force). It doesn't bother me at all, but it is still a downside to using a thicker pad. 3. I am concerned about long term cleanliness. Velour, for all its pros and cons, is reasonably easy to clean. Suede, on the other hand, generally isn't, so I'm still Googling around to figure out how to clean face oil off of suede (I shower daily, but genetics are genetics, sadly). Hopefully I can find a solution so these don't end up a crunchy mess after like 6 months. Overall, the microsuede ones are a big improvement over the stock earcups for the HyperX CloudX Flights (and, probably, the other Cloud headsets lol). The sound is smoother, the comfort is worlds better, and the increased clamp force keeps them from sliding around on my head. I do wish they were a bit cooler, but at least they fixed every other problem I was having. I may also get the velour editions just to see how they go (velour has regular foam, which is more breathable, which usually means cooler ears)...but to be honest, the sound on the suedes are phenomenal so I might just live with it. In any case, these are winners. 100% recommended, at least for HyperX Cloud users.

Fits Razer Blackshark V2 Hyperspeed
I bought these to replace the ear pads on a Razer Blackshark V2 Hyperspeed gaming headset. The material that fits into the slot around the headphone was cut to a smaller diameter than Razer’s but there is enough give in the material that it does indeed fit. Installing them is definitely one of those things you have to “hold your mouth right” and be patient with it. Once the lip is seated in the slot, a little shimmy helped seat everything into a neat, relaxed position. These pads look and feel better than OEM. Time will tell if they hold up. They’re comfortable and have enough loft to them that the ear is not touching the inside face of the headphone - perfect for long periods of use.

Comfort, but at what cost?
Update 10/1/2015: Brainwavz reluctantly resolved my issues. They eventually contacted me, and replaced the pads at no cost to me. For this I am adding a star. The durability of these pads is still questionable at best. Saying they fit AKG is a stretch to say the least ( they do, but it's not for the faint of heart installing them). I would like to give a more positive outtake from this update... But in order to get a response from Brainwavz, I had to email 3 times, review the product, and leave a negative seller review. The simple solution would have been to just replace the pads first thing, or to simply contact me and let me know SOMETHING early on. Buyer beware. I stand by my opinion however... these are really really really comfortable. Pros: Extremely comfortable, Light for their size, decent soundstage Cons: Not at all durable, get just as hot as pleather pads, maybe too big for their own good (I mean massive.... like wearing Cinnabons on your ears big.... COMICALLY big) I have a few friends, that after much deliberation have purchased and subsequently recommended Brainwavz earpads to me. If you are here, you probably know that they have been around a while, make several products, and get pretty favorable reviews based on a mixture of comfort and sound. I half a dozen pairs of headphones, and only one of them has ever really suffered more shelf time than I thought it should. My AKG k240's despite sounding great (chinese model.. way better cans than they get credit for) didn't get much play because of clear and present comfort issues. The stock pads are horribly thin, and my ears (I have... normal ears?) touch the foam on the drivers while wearing them. SO I decided to take a chance on Brainwavs. I PREFER the comfort of velour (I have been mainly a Sennheiser and BD user for years...) but the k240's are designed with pleather pads in mind, so I picked the hybrids hoping to get a blend of the comfort a crave and the sound that the k240's were designed for... One recommendation actually came from someone who OWNS k240's and installed the velour hm5's on them. I have listened to that set as well (prior to this purchase) and while impressed with the comfort felt that the extra soundstage brightened the overall sound of the cans too much. He had NO issues installing the pads.. no tears, no scares, no manufacturing defects detectable by the human eye... I was, unfortunately not so lucky. Upon opening them, I noticed a small area or pleather near the rim was slightly separated from the elastic. I immediately contacted Brainwavs customer support through amazon's market, and asked if there was anything they could do, and for advice on whether I should install them or not. The csr responded quickly and apologized for the issue, then asked for a picture. I sent a picture, and never heard anything back. That was 72 hours ago. I have since gotten tired of waiting to hear something from them, and attempted to install them as is. The first (no tears) went on great. I wasn't gentle with it, as the k240 is a really wide can, I basically had to force it on (which seems wrong, considering that they advertise these as compatible with akg cans while I'm at it). The second pad (torn) went ON, but the tear immediately became worsened by the installation process. The elastic under the pleather however, held up just fine and the pads are staying put. It's not very pretty, but it's doing the job I intended it to do. I have yet to hear from the CSR that I initially contacted, or any other representative for the company. I suspect that I never will. I wish, in retrospect that I had gone with the velour pads instead, as the comfort is (in my opinion) higher than it is in the hybrids, and the material is more durable. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Brainwavs Hybrids (based on their lack of durability), or Brainwavs as a company (due to their poor customer service techniques).

Man these are amazing. Amazingly soft
I bought these as a replacement pads for my Audio-Technica ATH M50s. Here's my take on them: Comfort: Man these are amazing. Amazingly soft, like 3-ply Charmin Ultra Soft but for the ears. The velour part that touches the ears is really nice. I was watching episodes for 3-4 hours, and I didn't take them off at once. They don't really heat up, 10x less than the originals. Installation: These are a tight but perfect fit for the M50s. You will have to stretch them a bit to get them on, but once they get put on, they fit better than the original pads, in my opinion. It took me about 5 minutes to take off the originals and install these. Sound - Signature: Okay, now to the important stuff. For those who don't know, the M50's sound signature is already relatively flat compared to your mainstream headphones, although they definitely still have a bass boost. These pads will completely change that. Since these are much thicker pads than the stock M50 pads, they push the drivers much further away from your ear. As a result, the headphones end up with a lot more of a flat, neutral sound signature. In comparison to the originals, mids are stronger, bass is very much recessed, the mid-upper range is leveled off as well, and the general volume is lower. As a classical and jazz lover, the flatter signature is nice (although EQ tweaking was still necessary). As a person who also listens to a lot of rap, it definitely isn't as fun with the recessed bass. Nothing that a little EQ tweaking can't solve, but for some, the new signature might put them off. Sound - Stage: The soundstage is a bit bigger in these than the originals. They're by no means comparable to open-back headphones, but I definitely appreciate the larger soundstage. Sound - Seal and Noise Cancellation: This is the beauty of the hybrid. These have really good seal (an attribute typically of pleather/leather pads), and very little sound leak. Also, these have a lot better noise cancellation, which I really love. The problem is I don't hear fire alarms anymore - so I just hope they are all drills.

Works with Creative SXFI Theater! *
I got this to replace my disintegrated earpads on my Creative SXFI Theater headphones - and they fit! Sort of. They fit after you trim a little bit of the pleather and after that they fit just fine!

Must Buy for most M series Audio Technica Headsets
Great replacement for stock audio technica leather ear cups, much comfier, fits nicely and is more breathable. I am not sure how it will wear over time but the stitching is firm and seems like it will hold up. 5/5

Excellent replacement ear-pads for the ATH-M50 after some EQ adjustments
Insanely comfortable ear-pads for my Audio Technica ATH-M50. I needed a replacement ear-pad because my old default ones were cracking and already half disintegrated. These ear-pads are breathable, comfortable even after long periods and fit perfectly for the ATH-M50. It was very easy to install as well and once it's on it will stay on. The memory foam is soft with just the right amount of softness to be comfortable with the velour pressing against your head. These ear-pads have a premium look and feel to them and won't look out of place when attached to any headphone that these ear-pads will fit on. They will change the sound for the ATH-M50 because they are thicker than the default ear-pads. I noticed a subtle change in the bass after switching along with a larger sound stage. But it's no major change and with a few EQ adjustments on my phone I'd say the sound got even better than before. If there is one bad thing however about these ear-pads is that velour attracts a ton of dust. After just a day of usage you will notice the dust sticking on the velour part of the ear-pad. Just get a cheap lint roller from a dollar store to clean it up every once in a while. Overall I'd recommend these to anybody looking for a replacement ear-pad and has large headphones.

Made my headphones a joy to wear.
I needed better earpads for my Superlux HD661 headphones. Although it's not stated as suitable for the HD661, similar size headphones are listed. I took a chance and ordered them. Well, they do fit and are vastly better than the supplied pads. They are also bigger than the originals so feel even better over your ears. My first listening session lasted a few hours without even noticing time passing. That never happened before because I was always aware of a pair of ill fitting, sweaty phones clamped to my head. There is no manual adjustment in the fit of this model of Superlux. A pair of rubberised wings are supposed to apply downward pressure on the head but do not really do much in reality. Now with the Brainwavz fitted the wings work and apply just enough pressure to hold the phones exactly where you place them over your ears. You can improve matter further by applying a mod mentioned by another reviewer. Roll a sheet of kitchen paper into a tube (roll around a pencil or something similar). Then push it into the gap between the foam pad and the integral black fabric that protects the driver. This will make the pads even deeper and more comfortable. The Brainwavz do seem to alter the sound for the better. HD661's are a little lite on bass but the Brainwavz seem at add a little weight to bass. These earpads are well worth the asking price.
