Does this work with simple On/Off combi boilers? I just want to set on/off times and not set temperature as current system controls water/heat as one.

If your current system supports a room thermostat then yes but if it does not have a room thermostat then probably not. Get advice from an electrician but my old flat system which was a combi boiler and radiator thermostats would not have supported this.

Is this appliance compatible with ifttt?

Hi, at present the IFTTT recipes for this are not available. Thank you

Can this device can be used as a trigger for other devices e.g. when temp > 21deg turn off a socket. Hoping to use this to control electric heaters

Hi, This is possible to do with the new triggers now available for you devices in the Mi|Home app. Multiple triggers can be set for each device and your heaters can be set to turn on if the temperature drops below a target as well as turn off if it rises above a target temperature. Thanks you

Can this work with oil heating systems. Not gas

It will work if your system has two cables going to the thermostat. Check your old thermostat and see how many connects are going to the boiler. TAKE CARE, AS IT MAY HAVE MAINS VOLTAGE ON THE CONNECTORS!. IF IN DOUBT CONTACT A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN.
