Perfectly Slim
I have a similar product on my 2015 MacBook Pro, but considering its size and the very slim margins in newer MBPs I didn't think this would be an option. On a whim I decided to poke around and see if there was a solution for my 2017 model, and thought I'd give these a try. I was impressed by the slim measurements and metal construction, which seemed like a durable solution so I gave them a shot. These are perfect! Installation was very simple, and thought was clearly put into the steps for adhering the slide just right. The cover slides seamlessly, and I haven't had the problem some other reviewers reported with the slide moving on its own even though I regularly carry my laptop in a bag on its side. These are definitely slim enough to make no contact with the laptop when closed - the camera alignment is such that this would hit and likely rub on the trackpad if contact was made. I followed the instructions closely, used a flashlight directed at the screen so I could clearly see the camera for alignment, and have zero issues using the camera. There are no partial blockages or "shadows" around the edges - the picture is perfect. I'm regularly in video calls for work, so I've definitely used this extensively. My wife was impressed enough that she asked me to put one on her 13" MBP and she's had the same highly positive experience. I have not, nor do I plan to install this on my phone or iPad. I was more concerned with the camera that's in my face 8 - 10 hours a day, and I'm not sure how this or any similar product would fare on a phone that's always going in and out of pockets. So if you're looking for a slim, and virtually invisible option to reliably cover your laptop camera (good bye tape!) I can't recommend this product strongly enough! --- *** December 2025 Update: I bought a new MacBook Pro in 2021 and immediately put one of these on. Finally, over 4 years later I just replaced it with another from the same multi-pack. Over that amount of time and countless uses, the slide was loose enough to open itself. Still, absolutely slim enough to never know it was installed - the Apple keyboard keys leave a mark on the screen, but this cover leaves no indication on the body it's in place! I'm ordering the redesigned version that's even thinner, but may grab another pack of these just in case the new version doesn't work out as well as these. I still couldn't recommend this product enough - a must have for laptop cameras! Just maybe not so much for an iPhone or iPad that unlocks with facial recognition. I could see that getting frustrating.

Sticks really well and serves its purpose.
Sticks very well to the front of my Samsung S25+. I guess I didn't really think about the facial recognition not working when the camera is covered (I know, I know 🤪 woops) but it is still nice being able to cover the camera when I absolutely do not need it. I have had one of these on my phone for a couple of months with zero issues of it moving or coming off. I did let it sit overnight after applying it, and didn't try to move it around or mess with it afterward. Since these things are so small, it was a bit tough applying it to the exact spot I wanted it to be in. After application and letting it sit and really adhere to my phone, I really appreciate it and I am happy I have it.

good but could be better
I like them but on a cellphone the glue is not strong enough for pocket use. They end up sliding around a bit. You can move them back in place but after a few times they are shot. Good news is that they are cheap and do work well. If I didn't use my pocket for my phone I think they would be great. On my laptop and IPad they are still working just fine. I just used a second one on my phone and am more careful about it. I do like them.

Nice little solution to computer cameras
Pros: - installs very fast and stays on well - manual camera blockage is the best way to know you aren’t showing your boss that it’s 2pm and you’re still in your PJs. Cons: - on my Surface Pro, the different sensors are very close to the camera, and even as small as these are, it was tough to put it on straight and ensure it wasn’t blocking anything. (Tip: I left the camera on while installing, and only peeled 1/2 of the backing away from the adhesion, until I had it placed where it wasn’t blocking). - it’s difficult to tell (because they are black, and so is the camera on my computers) whether the slider is blocking the camera or not at a glance. I fixed that with fine paint pens, coloring in the slider and the backing that shows when the camera is covered. So, when the camera is open, you only see the one dot. When it’s closed, you see the entire oval. You could just slide it to check, but these feel a little flimsy, and I didn’t want to mess with them that much. Overall, I’m happy with them. Cheap, easy, and they look nicer than my pink post it note covering them prior to these.

Ultra thin webcam cover ALMOST perfect for MacBook Air 2020
This is the third purchase of a webcam lens cover and it almost works perfectly. Is ultra thin and doesn’t seams to prevent the MacBook Air 2020 to close properly, but it does added a gap that worries me that could damage the screen since a gap indicates that pressure is concentrated in a spot. What makes it thicker seams to be the adhesion film as shown in the last picture. The sticking film added to the products makes it twice thicker. I also tried other magnetic version considering that should be thinner but the cover falls apart. So far seams to be a good product, made of metal. I wish it could be a little bigger to make it easier to slide, but not so big that it could interfere with the ambient light sensor usually at the right of the camera. It is a little bit hard to slide since is very small, but it might improve overtime while using. However is a good thing that it doesn’t slide on it’s own as reported by other versions of camera covers. If they can make the sticking part thinner the product will be perfect.

These are tiny!
Update: Still like these, but hard to open/close, so I used an Exacto knife to make little indents into the sliding cover. MUCH easier to grab with my finger or nail now! See pic ~~~~~ These are easy to apply and fairly easy to use... would be great if the sliding "door" had a little lip on it to grab with your fingernail... A little tough to grab, but they are super tiny and very thin. Put on my 2015 Macbook Pro, 2020 Macbook Air and the iMac... Lids close perfectly! Pay attention to where the ambient light sensor is for your laptop so that you don't inadvertently cover it. The screen won't dim properly if you do. They work great, worth the money!

The covers didn't slide very well
These webcam covers are very small, just the right size to cover up your camera without being bulky. There isn't any problem closing the laptop computer and having the cover get in the way due to protruding too far. The reason I only gave three stars was that the tiny black oval kept getting stuck and didn't slide back and forth very smoothly. However, these covers do work and can guarantee that a hacker can't view you through your computer's webcam. For me a small piece of black electrical tape is actually more convenient than these covers.

Good quality Webcam covers
Tbh, I had to watch the video online to get what the instructions meant. It was really easy to apply though after that and I have a couple of them in use right now. They've been great. Highly recommend

(Aug 2020 Update) The Best Out There for LAPTOPS. Can be Used On CELLPHONES & Tablets w/ Tradeoffs
I've tried several brands of these including United Time's Silver Metal covers, Kiwi Design's red & black covers, and others. The CloudValley covers are the best out there. These covers can be used on laptops, and front-facing tablet and cellphone glass with some tradeoffs. What I like about them that others don't have: hard plastic (The KIWI design covers feel like thickened paper and too wide), the cover slides smoothy within a track and doesn't pop out (Unitedtime Silver Metals use magnet to keep covers on, if they unlatch they're easily lost and the item and $ are wasted). The glue holds up well, but for practical reasons it's not superglue. I don't mind this because if I want to remove the cover for whatever reason or to replace them I don't want to scratch my devices or peel any paint (especially cellphone glass). Goo Gone will remove glue residue if need be. Make sure to clean the surface with isopropyl, and once aligned press down for 20 seconds. The ones I didn't press down kept loosening, the others have been holding up for weeks as I write this. Even the ones that came off still had enough glue to stick them back, press down, and no issues experienced since. These work nice on front-facing selfie cameras on tablet and cellphone glass. The tradeoff with them is you might have to remove your screen protector OR find one that fits with them on. I did this fully knowing the risks of dropping a device. I didn't scope out a new screen protector because cellphone shops are closed during lockdown, but will go once they reopen. They do wiggle a little bit because they're on glass but for the most part if you're not abusing your cellphone they hold up. Mine have been on for weeks and haven't replaced them. Update Aug 2020: I haven't replaced any of the covers on any device yet. They're holding up well. Highly recommended!

Sicherer Kameraschutz
