terrible and yet great
Ordered this in late March so it's not that old. Up till now, I've loved this. IMHO, this is how coffee should made and my coffee has never tasted so good. Noticed just today that there is some water trapped in between the glasses. I've never used boiling water to make my coffee, nor have I even used the dishwasher to clean it. I have on occasion, let warm soapy water sit in it to help clean it. Never dropped it or banged it around. I'm disappointed in the quality of this product. I thought I had a winner. Guess not. I'll be looking for a refund.FOLLOW UP:Since this review I have contacted customer service at arborproducts.com and they were FANTASTIC. They answered my email in less than a day and 3 days later, I had a new French press with no cost to me. I sent the same pictures that I posted here and they apologized and wow, what customer service. Don't be afraid to purchase this product as their customer service will obviously handle any issues you may encounter.

Best French Press I've Tried
I have tried many brands of French Press makers - why I think this is the best I've tried is because it is HEAVY - the glass is HEAVY. If you make French Press Coffee on a regular basis and are a little clumsy like me you'll find you break the carafe at least once a year. I know I just got this and have not had a chance to break it but I will tell you it is WAY better quality and thicker glass than any I have tried on the market. The Bodum one - and I love their products - I immediately broke about 6 times and went through 6 carafes as the glass is so thin, same with the others. It's all just really nicely made. My only complaint - I would pay extra for them to make the top in stainless steel instead of plastic, but other than that it's a really terrific French Press!

Was Great, Enhanced, Now Just Good
I've had several of these French press coffee makers (I am very capable of breaking the glass container and have done so several times). For first three or so purchases, these were the best out there for me. Great overall look, function was great, coffee was great - but then something changed. Previously the glass jar top rim was the same size as the body of the jar, meaning the plunger lid fit snuggly over the glass. Now, about a year or so ago, someone decided that the rim of the container needed to be slightly flared. It gets just a bit wider circumference at the rim. The lid of the plunger no longer fits the glass jar properly. Made a great thing less great. Can see the flare in the picture. Hope they go back to the old way. All that being said, it's not the end of the world - it's still the best French press model I've used. I see the same press under two different manufacturer names, so it's clearly a brandable item, made in China.

Works
Works for me. Some peaberry from Kauai and you have the perfect cup of coffee. Press works great. FYI instructions say 9 scoops per a filled unit. I did that the first time and coffee was extremely strong and was on a caffeine rush all day. Cut it in half the next day to 4 cups and that is perfect for the full 27 ounces.

Better replacement to my old one
Really high quality, great looking, and great flavor. My old one of 10ish years broke while I was cleaning it (darn concentrated soap), so as usual, I hopped onto amazon to see what replacements I could get. Wanted to replace from the same manufacturer, but it was quite a bit more than this one. After reading the reviews on this (like my review here lol), I bought it and couldn't be happier. Cool thing is that it looks so much better than my old one, too. Looks durable and almost industrial, so it's a nice addition to the kitchen counter when I use it. Speaking of which, I probably need to go make another carafe now!

Poorly engineered
After about 1 year, the plastic insert in the top has begun to rotate - the effect is that the the pouring strainer is no longer aligned properly and the unit dribbles when trying to pour a cup of coffee. No way to fix without breaking the top section apart to id the failure point !

Best Coffee ☕ Ever
I've been using a pourover for YEARS! Love having ceramic NOT GLASS. But, a frie d suggested this, and being one for new things, I ordered and tried. Now, first, it's for strong coffee lovers, but you adjust the mix. I've always used FINE, DARK-ESPRESSO grind, and this is perfect!!! The thing I get with the FP is some of the finest grind - like Turkish! - still in the bottom of each cup. But the FLAVOR is the Best!I can't compare presses very well, because it's my 1st and only, but it is glass - a req - and is easy to clean! I'm in love!
