Fresh coffee
This coffee pot works just as well as my Keurig. It was a little bit cheaper and fits in a tight space. Easy to clean up and wash out, especially if you have hard water.

Ran it over with my semi-truck
DO NOT BUY this garbage product. I have a larger model Cuisinart at home that has been flawless for years so I decided to get this single cup machine for the semi-truck I drive for work. Right out of the box, it’s been terrible. Sometimes it works. Other times it doesn’t. No rhyme or reason. It just stops working. So I open the water compartment and tap on and giggle the water inlet cap at the bottom, open and close the K-Cup lid, unplug and re-plug the machine, bang it on the sides … eventually, somehow one of those things gets it to work again. For at least ONE cup. Then it stops again. Also, the fact that there is no “on/off” button or switch is a great example of some misguided engineer designing a “higher tech automated solution” to a “problem” that didn’t exist. To save the user from having the difficult task of using a power switch or button, the machine decides when to power on and off and how long it remains powered on. So the big, obnoxious “brew” button of the front of the machine blinks on and off for half the day unless you unplug the machine after use. Today, this loathsome torture device met its fitting end as I finally had enough and smashed it to the pavement at a rest area. I then slid it directly in front of the tire of the 40,000 lb trailer I’m pulling today and slowly creeped the truck forward - driver window down to fully enjoy the crunching screams of its final, fitting demise. Farewell, you engineering blight, and good riddance. And yes, I did clean-up the mess afterwards. Well worth the added task. Do not buy this miserable piece of junk.

One serving at a time
This coffee maker is small and takes up little room on the counter. I didn't like the larger models that store water on the side. This one takes in fresh water every time.

A lovely and functional, albeit noisy, unit, one that would add beauty to any kitchen!
I have my own Cuisinart coffee maker just for me (I grind and brew coffee for only 12 ounces at a time); this unit serves as a hot-chocolate maker for my wife. It doesn't really bother me that there's no on/off switch (the unit turns on when it's plugged in, and the light on the front flashes for some time before automatically turning off), but the noise during operation is a pretty loud grinding noise (that's what makes this a four-star instead of a five-star review). I liked the idea of the adjustable base, although since I stir the hot chocolate in the cup while the hot water is coming out I end up having to have it at the bottom. Still, with the cross-hatching and the adjustability, the base reminds me a bit of Mechazilla for Starship. :) I also like the orange tab at the front. As with most Cuisinart coffee makers, there's a tendency to splash, which is why I stir during operation; there would probably be less splashing if I just raised the base to its higher position, but then I'd have clumps of undissolved hot chocolate that I'd have to crush after the end of the cycle. Rien n'est parfait! But all in all, this coffee maker is sleek and attractive (again, I love the orange tab!) and does its job well.

I should have listened to all of the 1-star reviews
This thing is awful. Started out great - brewed a fine cup of coffee quickly. And then it fell apart. Sometimes it would brew no more than half a cup. Sometimes it would not brew at all. Then there's that erratic, annoying flashing light. And that peach-colored tab really is ugly. But when it started making all sorts of horrible noises and the K-cup exploded - hot coffee grinds and water all over my shirt and the kitchen - it was time to send it back. It had lasted us barely a week.

I guess everyone's experience is different
I've never seen such varied reviews on something I purchased. So I figured I'd toss in my 2 cents. I have had this coffee maker for exactly one year. I have never had the K-cup explode, it has worked every time I've used it (2-3 times a day), it fits in my small kitchen and I guess I've never taken enough time to notice the flashing light once I fire it up. Yeah, the tab you use to get to the K-cup slot is kind of oddly colored, but really? The water reservoir is easy to get to, it heats up quickly and I'm on my way. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

Malfunction of the lid when it penetrates the coffee pod.
I have used my coffee pot and several times and it has misfired and coffee has over -flowed all over the counter top. I am careful with the amount of water I use this is a malfunction of the lid when it comes down and penetrate the coffee pod. I am very disappointed with the pot / Jacque Lewis.

Love coffee
I won’t own another Keurig. Not dependable! The only thing I am not fussy on with this coffee maker is that you must put water in the machine for each cup of coffee.
