Purchased mineend of April and its no longer working does it have any guarantee can i return it ?

Can I connect the unit to my chicken coop wire without killing them

You will need electric fence netting, if you connect to normal chicken wire the current will short out. It will not harm the chickens, only 3000 volts no amps.
