It Got Lit
So I was on the most romantic Europe trip with my overseas fiance while my mom agreed to housesit, babysit, and dogsit for the summer. Thanks mom! Of course that's when my HVAC decided to die in the middle of Summer in New Mexico. It sent me on a tailspin trying to troubleshoot that, but as luck would have it, she'd "found a guy" to take a look & suddenly all was right with the world when he determined it was a $120 part he could switch out himself! Okay yay, so we go on about our baller business & said our temporary goodbyes. I get back on that plane thinking I'm coming home to my cool, cozy desert oasis... I get there, & there's a LEGIT. ALBUQUERQUE TWEAKER. Tweaking my HVAC system. Not a service technician. I mean a white Tyrone Biggums going to town on my $10,000 A/C wiring. He says he's got this. My mom was perfectly pleased with herself for chatting up a guy she found on the actual street - the street being Route 66...6 - bringing him to MY house, & she just could not wait to introduce us!!! Same age, same sense of humor, OMGeee. Just FML. So he starts up about his hardships bc, you know, blahblahblahgovtcoverups & definitely not me+h, & he needs to start helping me do things a woman living on her own can't possibly manage. So I gave him a wad of money & sent him on his way. But as it turns out, the thing about cra(kheads is they find their way back. Guess the money ran out, & I look like I need friends, so he keeps finding all these random reasons to pop over with his scavenger-bird stolen copper gifts he thought could gain him entry, but nah - You bring me something, I send you away with something. But what to get a Skinny Pete tripping ba11s that says here's this impersonal but cool gift now I think we're squared up? Well lo' & behold, my algorithm blessed me with an ad for a TORCH LIGHTER!!! So I gave him that, but it didn't work, so I basically just hid when he stopped by every day for like 6 months. Fortunately he found a lady hoodrat, & they set sail for Mamaw's house in Oklahoma or some sh!t. Now I gotta find someone to get that AC working, & I went NC on my mom. But that lighter was so freakin cool. I played with it 'til it was just about out of juice before I gave it to him. It made a pretty intimidating whoosh sound when starting up & shot flames like 8 inches long. Probably wouldn't use it on my delicate candles, but it would make one hell of a personal protection device for runners like myself, & I'm pretty sure that junkie made good use of it.

Lights well! Looks cool! But it's not cool, it's HOT, 'cause it's a lighter, so don't burn yourself!
Lights candles very well, fireplaces too. Easy to use. Easy to fill. Safety lock is reliable. Haven't had it long enough to assess how long it lasts on a fill. Could be used as a tactical weapon. Solid and heavy. Certainly not a size that you could tuck into your pants easily.

Exactly as Described, Large flame and you can change the color! But some gotchas - see the review :D
So, I got this with expectations that it may produce an impressive flame, but there may be usability issues. While it does have some issues, they can all be worked around as long as you understand what's going on. The first thing I noticed after unboxing - a near complete lack of instructions. While usage is pretty intuitive if you've used butane powered devices previously, there's a few things where having some basic instructions would probably go a long way - even if they're just in the product description page. Fundamentally, this is a butane torch. By default, the flame is blue, but if you place something in the path of the flame, an arrestor of sorts, you can change the color to red. By default, there's a metal grill installed at the opening where flame comes out. This is what makes the flame red. If you remove it, the flame will be the "normal" blue. The metal grill is very thin and as a result can bend or break easily so be careful with removing it. You might be able to just shake it out but otherwise, use a toothpick or something small where you can gently pull on the ring to pull it out. Given the reviews that mention not being able to get the flame to change color, that's probably a major gotcha for most. The next is that you can adjust the size of the flame by twisting the dial that's just around the trigger. There's a variety of adjustments but it can be adjusted to the point where almost no gas is released when the trigger is pulled/held. If you have it turned too far down, this would make it seem like your torch is not working! Luckily, out of the box, it was in the middle position and so when I next tried to light the flame after fiddling with that dial and removing the grill, the torch didn't light, it didn't take me too long to realize what may have happened. A related gotcha is that there's no way to see how much butane is loaded into the torch. So for me, my first thought when I failed to get it to light is that I somehow didn't put much butane in it. So I tried to put more, but being near full, I quickly ended up spilling the HIGHLY FLAMMABLE butane around the bottom of the torch. Which of course caught fire when a minute later I realized what was going on and turned the dial that meters the gas output. Luckily, butane evaporates quickly and I happened to be doing this near a sink so when the whole torch went up in flames, I just dropped it then patted the flames out. Word to the wise - don't engage the switch to hold the trigger open until you've finished setting things up and are confident about operating the torch.

Awesome Gift
I bought this for my husband, he’s a HUGE Star Wars fan and he LOVES this lighter! It is excellent quality, heavy and well made. The flame it shoots out is adjustable and looks so cool! Excellent gift for the fan who has everything that won’t break the bank!

Big beautiful B
It is a butane lighter don’t be confused. They do not say anything about it being a butane lighter. But that is what it is a butane lighter with a real big flame. Do I like it, will I use it?.Yes! I just don’t like the obvious ploy of saying it’s a plasma light rather than it comes empty and you have to fill it with butane to make the flame.
