Poor Quality and Customer Service
My third one al lwe’re broken or stopped working after a few uses. I really wanted one, but this company does not make a quality product. The first two I got at a store that would take them back the third one I bought on Amazon. With no ability to return after using it under 10 times over approximately 3 months. I called the iRobot company and they just kept sending me on a wild goose chase to get more and more and more receipts which I could not obtain anymore of. At the end of the day they just cut me off Amazon has nobody to get in touch with so there’s absolutely nothing I can do. I would warn anybody buying this item not to. It will break quickly and you will be stuck

DO NOT BUY! Yikes! Wish I could return
Updated September 2025: After sending the vacuum to iRobot/Roomba to be repaired for nearly two months, this video is how it returned. Still doesn’t work. They will not fix it or replace it. Updated March 2025: I wish I could give this 0 starts. At this point, the vacuum will no longer turn on or work at all. I’ve spent hours trying to have it replaced for over a month with iRobot. I keep getting the runaround. After yet another long phone call today, I was told that they refuse to replace it, but will try to repair it, which will take over a month. So the vacuum I bought in October, didn’t open until November (so it was out of the return window when I realized it didn’t work), still doesn’t work in March, and won’t be working for at least another month after shipping and repair times. So basically, I have my fingers crossed that 7 months after buying it, it might work. Don’t spend your money! We had a self-emptying Shark for a few years. When it died, we decided to try out a Roomba. Gosh, I wish we would have bought another Shark. Of the 20 or so times we’ve tried to run it since we’ve had it (we bought maybe 2-3 months ago), it has been unable to finish the job probably 18 of the times. I know these things can be sensitive so I’ve made sure to pick anything up that could be in its way beforehand. It gets stuck on the couch all the time. I’ve tried to put stuff to block it but it keeps going to the same spot, pushing that stuff away, and getting stuck. The maps don’t get the entire room. It does a terrible job on the edges of walls. It does not empty fully into the bin. I find little piles of sand/dirt randomly through the rooms it ran in like it just leaked it out in piles (this is especially true right in front of the base - it’s like it knocks the dirt out trying to get on top of the base every single time). Maybe this is due to it not emptying as it should. Last time it stopped it said there was a sensor problem (it’s hardly run at all - makes no sense). No matter what we have tried, it does not work properly. I hate we can’t return it now that we’ve been able to see it doesn’t get any better.

2 years later, still works great!
I’ve had this roomba for almost 2 years now and it has never given me any issues! It’s very easy to set up, and once you do it the one time, it’s good for life. It’s super convenient that it docks and empty itself. The app is very simple to use, it gives you reminders on when a filter or brush needs to be replaced and even a step by step guide on how to change it. Overall the maintenance is very simple and user friendly, and the it cleans very well!

Don't Get This One
This was a replacement to an off brand. Connection issues: First we had trouble connecting to it. My phone/the app would throw error codes left and right; talked to their help desk and had to be transferred all around. We never found a solution, but my partner was able to connect. Really frustrating. Between me, my partner, and with help desk, it took us 50 attempts to connect. It should not be this hard. Our internet was compatible with the device. Self-Empyting Bin: This was the main reason why we chose the product. Our last one filled up too quickly from 3 pets worth of fur. By the second time we run it, we noticed the vacuum would empty its bin within 2-4 minutes of vacuuming and it killed the battery. We cleaned the bin, the filter and bag, but the bag wasn't filled. By the fifth time we used it, it would throw errors saying it couldn't empty itself. We cleaned it again and found the filter already needed a replace. We didn't have this problem with our off brand. They do not give you replacement filters, but they give you two bags. Overall Clean: It seems like a good sweeper compared to our off brand. The carpets felt cleaner. That said, I don't think the robot is efficient. I felt that the robot goes over some of the same areas and does not do a complete "lap" around the house. App: The app is basic and kinda disappointing. Our old vacuum's map would show you lines where the vacuum had cleaned and if you needed to go back over a spot, you could tap or place a box over an area and send it to that area. This one doesn't. Just shows you a map. You can tap on the map and tell it to clean a room. Sound: This is a loud one. This is as loud as manual sweeper. I am auditory sensitive and usually wear ear plugs and step outside while it runs. Overall, I'm unimpressed. We got this on sale for $279. Our last one was $150 and had a mop feature, which we didn't use. Honestly, go with the off brand. I'm sure it can't be much more worse than this one. 😅

Decent Self-Emptying Vacuum, but Lacking Key Features and Smarts
The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is a decent entry into the smart vacuum market, but it falls short in several key areas, making it hard to recommend unless it's on sale. Setup and Usability The setup process was very simple, and the app is intuitive and user-friendly. However, I have not used the Alexa integration and would personally prefer it if the device didn't include Alexa compatibility at all. For me, it's an unnecessary feature that feels intrusive. Smart Mapping and Navigation The smart mapping feature works most of the time, but it's far from perfect. It struggles to accurately map certain areas of my apartment, particularly around doors, doorposts, couches, and chairs. Although it’s easy to designate rooms, I’ve noticed the map sometimes "forgets" rooms and labels them as unidentified. I've stopped trying to update the map because it’s more trouble than it’s worth. Additionally, the Roomba has difficulty avoiding obstacles and seems to lack the intelligence of other models I’ve used. It constantly bumps into walls, eats cords, and gets stuck on furniture legs or loose items. It would be great if it could learn to avoid problem areas over time, but unfortunately, it doesn’t. Cleaning Performance The vacuum does a decent job of picking up pet hair, which is my primary use case, but it requires daily operation to maintain cleanliness. It struggles with various surfaces and often gets caught on desk legs or loose objects. While it’s not the worst cleaner I’ve used, the lack of advanced obstacle detection is a real drawback. Self-Emptying and Maintenance The self-emptying feature is a standout highlight. It’s convenient and works well, though I wish the device would notify me when the bag is full. I highly recommend investing in reusable bags, as the disposable ones sold separately can become an unnecessary ongoing cost. One minor issue is that the bags can be tricky to load, but the snug fit ensures everything stays in place. Battery Life and Durability I live in a small apartment, and the battery is usually quite low by the time it finishes its daily cleaning routine. While this hasn’t caused any issues yet, I anticipate potential battery problems within a year or two. On the bright side, the vacuum reliably finds its base 99% of the time. A small quirk is that it doesn’t clean the area around its base, so placement is important. Noise and Operation The Roomba is quite noisy during operation, which can be especially frustrating since it takes about an hour to clean my space. Over time, I’ve learned to tune out the noise, but it can still be disruptive during meetings or when watching something. The frequent bumping into objects adds to the noise and highlights its lack of refinement compared to other smart vacuums I’ve owned. Overall Value I would only recommend this vacuum if it’s on sale—preferably during events like Black Friday or Cyber Monday—and only if the discount is significant. Even then, I think you can find better value with other brands, such as Eufy. The self-emptying feature is the main selling point, but the lack of features like remote control, spot cleaning, and advanced obstacle avoidance makes it hard to justify the price. While Alexa integration might appeal to some, I find it unnecessary and would prefer it not be included. Final Thoughts Overall, the iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO has its merits, particularly in its self-emptying capability, but its flaws outweigh the benefits. It’s not a bad vacuum, but it’s far from the best. If you’re in the market for a smart vacuum, I’d suggest exploring alternatives that offer better value and more advanced features.

Eh
Its ok. Do i like it? Sure. It gives a lot of problems. It gets stuck all the time. The company made a filter on the side you have to replace not just clean and keep going which is very 1990 vacuum bag. Why? The product is already expensive and only works 40% of the time. Not impressed like i thought I would be. The way people talk about these things was a huge let down. Again it works, sort of. The machine constantly thinks it has no internet. It gets stuck all the time under a table. Can't get out of the way, or go back the way it came in. The battery life is not very good. To finish one floor it needs to charge twice and it's only a month or so old. Yea. Not impressed, especially not for the price. I won't ever buy this again until it vastly gets a face-lift and works way better

So much better after got to figuring it out!
I see why this was on sale. All it does is get stuck. It gets fixated on one spot that it can’t move. Definitely doesn’t start back up to where it’s left off after it empties . It also can’t ever find “home”. I guess I’ll have to send it back. Not worth all that money and I took out the 3 year warranty and ordered extra rolls and bags. So frustrating! I always read the reviews but this time I should have read more. After time I finally figured out what was going wrong. The instructions weren’t as complete as I needed them….makes me feel stupid but at least now…I’m amazed with how smart this little machine is! This is fantastic!!!!!

Terrible. People seriously, this is cleaning theater. Nothing more.
Update: dead after ten hours of use. Just spins in circles. Only this seems to impact many of these and the higher cost models. Roomba techs says this is very common but sorry you are out of warranty but thanks for the $250 bucks to fund our diversity and inclusion engineering team. Can't wait to see this company go under. Buy shark instead. We have a cheap random roomba that picks up and entire bin full of pet hair, food particles, lint etc with each run. So when I needed one for a 1k single floor camp, picking up the i3 on prime deal was a no brainer. It sucks! Or I should say it doesn't suck and that's half the problem. It also won't pickup pieces of dog food, small fall leaf remnants, grass, lint laying on a carpet. But why? The suction is far less. Likely to advertise better battery power. The two rubber beaters do nothing. They won't pickup lint, dog food, grass. This thing just runs things deeper into carpet. Worse, 90 percent of our floor is hardwood lol. It misses everything in the corners they the random cheap one got, it runs right over dogfood. It's literally useless as I have to go and broom or vacuum areas this obviously missed. I spent more time searching for misses and sweeping manually rather than just running the vacuum and sweeping out the corners. Now I know why it's so cheap. No option to increase suction or add an ACTUAL brush that has been know to work since the invention of vacuums. Nope. The amount of dirt this has picked up was a handful. Three full runs. One run of our old random dumb Roomba picks up five times the amount, even after the new i3 has already run three times! I'm not sure who thinks these work well. Maybe you don't realize how little they work and are ok with that. That's not cleaning, thats just theater. Pull out a real vacuum after running your Roomba and do the entire house to see how bad these work. If it can't vacuum loose lint laying on hardwood , well there is never ANY hope this would get dirt out of carpet fibers. I'm returning this pos and switching brands, never looking back. When a company makes dumb decisions this large, it means they have a systemic problem that won't get resolved until they hit rock bottom.

Great robot if you just need vacuuming only - the self emptying station is GREAT!
Actually surprised with how much I enjoy this robot vacuum. The self empty station is a total game changer, and both of mine (I have 2 of the exact same units) perform really well. Pros: solid run time, good coverage and cleaning, will mount low pile carpets / door mats, will do a thorough job Cons: will not work on mid-high pile carpets (like any robot vacuum), noisy, and a little bit tricky to get well adjusted Once mine was registered, mapped, and charged it runs like a top on schedule then empties itself into the station bag. It’s been 3 weeks and it’s got a ton of room left. The iRobot app is just fine for me, and has a few useful metrics. Overall very happy with ours.

Do NOT Buy. Terrible.
We bought this model back on November 26, 2024. I thought I'd give it a good chance, but I could tell within the first month of having it that it did not compare to our older iRobot 960. Now that we have had it for 8 months, I can honestly say avoid this model, buying it was a serious mistake. Our 960 could clean the house, run out of battery, charge itself and get back to the job. This model will start, drive back and forth twice, then announce it's full. Half the time it says it's full without even BEING full! It also doesn't self-empty I have to press the button to start its self emptying cycle. So it never finishes a job. Anyways, wish I returned it but here we are.. so short version: - Don't buy this model - Self Emptying is GARBAGE - You'll be cleaning it more often than a non-self emptying model. - Check the iRobot 960, highly recommend! We've had ours since 2018 and it still works better than this model.

Excellent product
Love it great suction takes a few days to map your layout but it's fantastic.mOnem thing to be aware of and i personally don't care is it leaves black marks on the baseboard and doors from bumping into them. The machine also gets very scratched up on it's body. My irobot stopped working properly, it was promptly replaced by irobot customer service.

Do NOT buy this iRobot Roomba
I’ve had this robot for two years, and about three months ago it suddenly stopped working properly for no reason. Since the warranty is only 12 months, the only thing they offered was a 15% discount on another product. If something happens to your iRobot, there is basically no solution. You can’t easily buy replacement parts to fix it yourself, so you end up throwing away a $400 device that lasted less than two years. After this experience, I honestly don’t feel like buying any other products from this brand. I don’t want to spend money again on something that may break in a short time with no real repair options. The navigation system stopped working, which makes the robot basically unusable. Very disappointing for such an expensive product. I expected much better durability and customer support.
