would reccomend.
This arrived in decent condition. It did have a little root rot but i was able to treat with peroxide and rehab the plant. Alocasias are sensitive so no surprise there.

Looked good, and then...
The plant looked very nice upon arrival. I noticed that the soil (I say soil, though it appears to be 100% coco coir) was pretty damp still, so I didn't water it. A week later, as the soil was still wet, so I took it out of the pot, and (unsurprisingly) there was very little root at all. I down-potted it to a 4" with better draining soil, but to no avail; the plant succumb to root rot a week later. It is obvious what happened here: a small (from the size of the root ball, I'm going to guess 3") plant was up-potted to a 6" to sell for a higher price, the absolute wrong soil was used (Alocasia hate to be kept wet), and the rest was inevitable from there. As a note: I have gotten other plants (and even other Alocasia) from Costa Farms, and this is the first such experience I've had

Impressed
I dont usually write reviews but after reading other people's experiences I felt I should share. I ordered this plant dec. 9th, fully aware it was a bad idea. Its freezing outside. Then Amazon tracking said it wouldn't be here until Monday meaning it would possibly sit in a delivery truck all weekend. I had little hope. We'll it arrived on Friday and im so impressed. It did have a heat pack. I removed 1 leaf. There was dirt outside of the pot, but i believe that was from the steak they used to save the box from being crushed. Also I always check the roots when I get a new plant and it was slightly disappointing to see a bunch of rooted cuttings together, but for the price it makes sense. I cant expect a full plant for 20$. Over all its a beautiful plant. Especially considering it traveled through December temperatures. There are also 2 black spots, im hoping is just from the temperature. This review sounds bad but considering all the other reviews and considering its close to the holidays, im impressed.

Darling plant I look forward to having a long time!
I was hesitant to purchase an indoor plant online, but I now would do it again. It was well packed and arrived safely. Pros: This plant is already probably my favorite indoor plant ever. Absolutely darling and looks very healthy. Cons: It was packaged so well that it took some doing to get unpacked as I wasn't really sure how to do it. I just took after the tape, bubble wrap, and paper with scissors, but did it outside as there was some potting soil outside of the pot. It wasn't more spilled soil than I expected though with shipping. I had to use a little adhesive remover to get tape residue off the ceramic pot. Also, the plant itself was leaning toward one side and had some leaves growing through the holes in other leaves; two of which were torn with the pressure from the new leaves growing in them. It looks like maybe it wasn't turned enough and attended to individually while it was growing. I trimmed those leaves and will even out the leaning with window placement. I've had it only 4 days and it is already bouncing back from its shipping adventure. Overall, I love this new addition to our office and would recommend this plant! It is about 11 inches tall, measuring from the bottom of the pot (7" from top of soil). I plan to use it as a table top plant for a couple of years until it grows too big for that, then will enjoy it as a floor plant.

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM
I've bought many Costa Farms plants over the years but this year is the 1st time I've bought on Amazon, NEVER AGAIN. I'm not delusional I don't expect a plant to come in excellent condition when shipped. I'm a plant whisperer so I don't mind nursing a traumatized green friend when they arrive, I haven't lost one until now. I've bought 3 plants through Amazon from Costa Farms the 1st 2 were palms and still MONTHS later have mealy bugs, I've had them in quarantine for about 6 months and because they're palms it's a freaking nightmare getting rid of them they literally get in the top of the trunks deep down and you have to repeat insecticide baths and chopping all their hair off over and over again. If you're lucky you may get rid of them on the 4th or 5th round providing the tree doesn't just give up and die. I'm invested in healing those two so I'm trying to get to the finish line. But THIS time I'm not chalking it up to a fluke, Costa Farms and this distributor have a SERIOUS problem and obviously they could care less. I ordered this polka dot begonia because our local nursery ran out and I don't know why it didn't dawn on me that I might have the same issue as the palms but honestly I've been dealing with trying to heal them for soooooo long that it's just become the norm. 1st. Just on first blush when I opened the box I knew I was in trouble, the leaves were eaten through by bugs and necrosis. They were bent in half on every single leaf, which if you know this plant you also know that their leaves are the most important part. But I said hey I'll trim them up and get rid of the dead parts and see if I can get her to back to healthy. So a little water and into quarantine she went. 2. I gave her a week to calm down and rehydrate but she's not looking any better in her stalks. 3. With no improvement I knew we have a bigger problem (STILL not putting two and two together like an idiot) so I just took her to the kitchen sink to give her a little drink of a magic elixir I use for my medical grow. It requires her soil to be soaked all the way through though 1st. As I started watering her with a nice PH'd water with a hint of aloe concoction my newbie plants get before their 1st Dirty Girl Tea treatment allllll these fungus gnats just swarmed out if her soil As I mentioned I have a medical grow but i also have thousands of dollars in other houseplants and can't jeopardize their health so in the trash this plant went. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!
