Am I right in saying these require M6 screws? Is it the same size screws (different lengths) for both size of space plug?

Anything upto a M6 or 6mm .... work fine with 5mm screws too ... the central bore diameter is 6.5mm ... as regards length as they are extendable you would have to select the required length as appropriate .. hope that helps and anything else you want to know please feel very free :)

I'm looking for a way to hang thick curtains to a v large window with approx. 80mm insulated plasterboard. What weight can these space plugs hold?

Hi and thanks for your question. I'm the inventor of Space-Plug and used to be a professional handyman. You have a difficult problem to solve. Space-Plug works to prevent compression. Its not designed to be Load Bearing. If you used space-plug to bridge the gap the curtains load would be taken by the screw itself. If you could have several on each bracket it might well work but fundamentally hanging something heavy off a 6mm screw thats actually 80mm out of the wall is a big ask.
