Columbia Women's Newton Ridge Plus Waterproof Hiking Boots

I ordered these hikers from Columbia after about 3 weeks of scouring Amazon for the right pair. I have always been very hesitant to order any kind of footwear online (I'm a see it, try it on in person first kinda shopper when it comes to clothing & footwear) as I have wider feet and seem to never have luck finding footwear that fits as it should.I've liked Columbia's products for a long time, but could never seem to get my wider feet into their footwear. However, after finding these in a brick & mortar store & falling in intense like with these hikers, I came back to Amazon to find them in an 11 WIDE (!) at super great price far less than in the retail store. With some hesitancy I decided to order these hikers & give it a try. The free return if they didn't fit tipped the scales.They arrived on time as promised and HUZZAH! actually fit my wide feet! Not only did they fit my wide feet, I experienced zero crunching of my toes (the toebox is *actually WIDE* like it should be on a wide shoe), the arch is in the right place, and I can even wear a medium to thick crew sock without feeling squeezed and still have room for my toes to move around.I *really* appreciate that the tongue of this hiker is *not* sewn all the way up to practically the top, which allows for my foot to really easily slide into this hiker without having to wrestle it on. These hikers lace up really nicely and the laces stay tied because they are rounded and not flat. In terms of weight these hikers are not at all heavy like some others I have tried so my legs and feet don't get tired.Though I haven't been in too many situations where there is a ton of water or wintry slush, so far these hikers have performed as waterproofed hikers should in this early winter season. I wore these hikers right out the box the first day for almost the whole day & didn't feel the need to "break them in" as I ahve had to do with other hiker boots.The boots are not heavily insulated, but even with a medium weight crew sock on my feet stay pretty warm but don't overheat even when I've worn them practically all day long. Speaking of crew socks, you'll want to opt in for them because I found that without them the fabric on the inside of the boot can be a little harsh on your ankle. That said, if you are on a long hike with *any* hiker boot this should be your standard dress code anyhow.Overall, really love these hikers. Delightfully surprised by them & would highly recommend.Overall, these hikers were a great find, a nice surprise in fitThere could be some improvements made on arch support. While this has so far not been uncomfortable for me at all, if you have higher arches you might need an arch support insert depending on your comfort level. These hikers are not super cushy inside with any kind of memory foam but, again, even having worn them practically all day long my feet really weren't achy at all,

I bought these when they were on sale for around $50 in preparation for a 6 day trip to Iceland. I ended up wearing them every single day on my trip, and they were fantastic! While I did not test if they were truly waterproof, I did walk around in rain and mud, and my feet stayed dry. They also required minimal breaking in before wearing. I wore them on 3-4 walks around the neighborhood for around 30 minutes, and that seemed to do the trick! (The toes were the only thing that needed breaking in - when I first got them, they kind of bent in on my toes - but that was not a problem during my trip.) I wore them with Dickies socks while on my trip, and my feet were so comfortable, even after walking around 10,000+ steps every day! Plus, I think they look good, which is a plus for hiking boots!! I purchased size 8.5, and I'm typically in between 8-8.5, so I'd say they are true to size.

These are my favorite boots. They’re well made, light weight, sturdy, provide a supportive fit, and are comfortable for all day wear. I’ve worn very expensive well known brands of hiking boots, these exceed their quality. Highly recommended! I like this color best. This is my 4th pair in 15 years.

LOVE these! Comfortable & durable with great traction! Excellent for hiking, winter wear, rain gear, etc. My daughter loaned my brown pair; she didn’t want to give them back.

I'm taking these on a big vacation and will update after. I thought the 10 was too long until I measured the insole, so dont judge a book by it's cover! I sprayed it in my sink and didnt feel water inside the shoe, including the tongue! It was initially comfy to walk in BUT the boot shaft has thick padding, which is NOT ergonomic to the human ankle, causing significant pressure to the lateral malleoli (the bump on the outside of the ankle joint). I am more sensitive to pressure than most and it drove me mad! If you arent, it will still be uncomfy. BUT I found a way to tie it so that it doesn't squeeze the area: when you get to the last 2 hooks, put the laces on IN REVERSE! So loop it to the top hooks then to the 2nd loops, then cross them, double wrap the laces (to reduce the lengh), and do a double loop knot! VOILA!But ideally, they should carve out that section to accommodate the joint. The insole itself is thin. Not painful but not super padded either. I added a slim insole on top of it.

I absolutely love these boots. I wear them to do trail/park work (cutting up downed trees, trimming trails, etc). They are comfortable right out of the box and have great ankle and arch support which I desperately need. True to size - worn with a medium weight boot sock. They are easy to get on too.The waterproof membrane maintains a little heat inside the boot, but it's not unbearable - only noticeable. I need waterproof boots for my working conditions and these are perfect for my needs.Can't beat the price.

I purchased 3 pairs of Columbia boots, 1 pair of Women's and 2 pair of Men's for my kiddos. These boots are comfortable out of the box! None of us needed to break them in at all and we wore them for hours every day. They didn't fail us on being waterproof either. We wore them on a glacier snowmobiling activity where there was a lot of slush, and we all left with dry feet. I HIGHLY recommend these boots! We all got wides which were helpful with a heavier sock but I ordered my regular size 9. I tried a 9.5 but it was too big in length.

UPDATE: These were awesome for my hike! We had to go through puddles and even a stream during this hike and the water just rolled right off of these boots. I didn’t feel a thing, not even a temperature change. It was so cool. These boots gripped like a champ and it’s a good thing I had them because we did a fair amount of climbing too, which I wasn’t anticipating beforehand. Excellent boots!These boots look and fit great! I normally wear a size 10, so I ordered that size, but they felt tight around my toes/top of my foot, so I returned and sized up to 10.5 and they are perfect! Very comfortable and I’m excited to use them for my first hike coming up. This size happened to be on sale for $25 too so I really lucked out. Might buy another pair. They seem to be great quality and the leather looks really nice. Purple on the bottom was a nice surprise too. I will update after the hike about durability and grip.

Zu früh gefreut. Nach dem 1. Spaziergang mit meinem Hund auf einem Feldweg, es hatte zuvor geregnet. Auf eeinem Feldweg kommt man nicht drum herum, dass man durch die eine oder andere Pfütze gehen muss. Habe mich sehr über diese Schuhe gefreut, endlich Schuhe zu haben bei denen ich keine Schmerzen im linken Fuß habe. Hallux ... Zu Hause musste ich leider Feststellen, dass die Sohlen INNEN Im Zehen und Fersen Bereich richtig nass sind (Leder innen war aber trocken) . Habe es beim weiteren gehen nicht gleich bemerkt da ich orthopädische Einlagen habe. Habe die Schuhe zum trocknen andersrum auf die Heizung gelegt. Wurden aber in den o. g. Bereichen nicht trocken!!! Im Gegenteil. Wenn man sich die Bilder oben genau betrachtet, sieht man außen an der Sohle außen im Fersen und Zehen Bereich Löcher (viereckig) sind. DA läuft Wasser rein da diese bei meinem Paar tief sind, kann es mir auch nur so erklären da die Schuhe sonst innen überall trocken gewesen sind. Ist bei BEIDEN Schuhen noch nass!! Der Spaziergang war vor 3 Tagen!!

Comprei a Columbia Newton Ridge Leve à Prova d'Água para minha esposa justamente pela promessa de ser impermeável. Infelizmente, na primeira caminhada sob uma chuva leve, a água entrou na bota e ela ficou com os pés molhados. Ficamos bastante decepcionados, pois esse era o principal motivo da compra. No restante, a bota parece confortável e bem acabada, mas, quanto à impermeabilidade, nossa experiência foi negativa e não correspondeu ao que é anunciado.
