I'm giving this printer 3 stars because, while it's an excellent performer once it's running, the initial setup was quite a challenge. On the positive side, it is a very nice-looking, professional unit that doesn't take up too much space. Once I got past the configuration hurdles, I was impressed by the speed—it’s very fast and the auto-cutter works perfectly every time. However, be prepared to spend some time on the installation. The setup process wasn't very intuitive, and it took more effort than expected to get it recognized and printing correctly. If you're tech-savvy or don't mind a bit of a troubleshooting session, it’s a solid, high-speed printer for a restaurant or retail environment. Just wish the "out of the box" experience was a bit smoother."

Product barley wanted to work in the beginning and was to difficult to figure out as everything kept going wrong then the USB device stopped working completely after 2 days of owning it. Horrible product do not buy, put a little more money twords a good one.

This thermal receipt printer is bare bones, but once installed it is easy to use and prints very fast. Loading paper is easy. You just drop the 80mm wide roll of thermal paper in, leave the tail end hanging out, and close the cover. I use it with 230ft rolls which are about 80mm in diameter. The included manual only has setup instructions for Windows. However, I use this printer on a Linux system so I had to go searching for a driver. I ended up using one from the Netum website. The CUPS driver installs as a Zijiang POS-80250 printer. I also had to manually set it to use USB instead of the default IP address that it tries to use, even though this version of the printer does not even have an ethernet port. The resolution is legible but could be better. The automatic cutter works great. The printer has a very annoying beep when it runs out of paper, which I guess could be a good thing. The only controls on the printer are a paper feed button and an on-off switch. The build quality of the printer is mediocre, but it should last a while with light duty use. The printer would be more versatile if it was a network printer, but for POS use, having only USB is acceptable. Overall, this printer works for me.
