Avantree C81-Gaming - USB-C Bluetooth 5.3 Audio Adapter Dongle for PS5

I picked up the Avantree C81-Gaming USB-C Bluetooth 5.3 adapter to use on my PS5 (Sony), pairing it with my Bose QC45s and Beats by Dre Studio Beats Pro — and the sound quality absolutely blew me away. Compared to the wired connection I had been using through the controller, this is a huge upgrade. Audio is clearer, fuller, and more immersive, with no noticeable lag while gaming or streaming. Setup was straightforward, and once paired, everything just works. For pure sound performance, this adapter delivers. One important thing to note: it does not use the built-in microphones on either headset. You have to manually switch your mic input back to the controller, which isn’t a dealbreaker for me, but it’s worth knowing upfront. Overall, this is a fantastic little device from Avantree. If you’re looking to run premium Bluetooth headphones on your PS5 with excellent audio quality, this is 100% worth it — just be aware of the mic behavior. Highly recommended.

This is some awesome Bluetooth tech. Going through the previous reviews I had some mixed emotions after reading many. I just wanted to say that I haven't had a negative experience whatsoever. I've connected a pair of XM3's, a pair of XM5 earbuds, and a pair of XM6 over the ear headphones. The pairing process takes seconds, and the adapter works right out the box. The entire time I have had my PS5 (since launch) I've been doing wired connection to my headphones. Now that one of my controller's AUX 3.5mm port is on the fritz, going with this just makes sense (instead of buying specialized Wireless 2.4 Pulse Headphones or their off brand equivalent) - and I am so pleased. I can finally use earbuds with my PlayStation. Given the cost of this unit, its astounding that this tech isn't in the PS5 to begin with. Oh well. Never going back. For 30.00, I see some definite value for money here. Now, I get to seamlessly listen to audio on a pair of 300.00 headphones, rather than me ss with a pair of 185.00 Pulse Elites that are prone to breaking. It is quite durable, and I can see it occupying my second USB port permanently. I am surprised that I was able to connect it to so many types of headphones and that its compatible with essentially everything Bluetooth.

I'm using this unit for dual audio on my Pixel 6a Android phone running Android 15. I was able to pair two bluetooth headsets to the adapter after plugging it into my phone, and now my wife and I can listen to audiobooks together on walks. It's not as good as pairing one phone - I clicked the pair button on the adaptor and then paired headsets, but I don't have any visual interface, One of my headsets also displays a lot of skipping, so I'm trying some others to see which are most compatible. But still, it's a lot better than nothing!

This works very well allowing me to use my Air Pods with my PS5. It's made gaming in the evening better because I don't have to bother others in the house who may be trying to sleep. Set up is not hard, but not seamless either but in the end I was able to connect and I'm very pleased with the purchase.

I owned Avantree Leaf Long range Bluetooth for over 6 years. I thought it was time to upgrade since this tiny one has Bluetooth 5, the old one only uses Bluetooth 4. Oh boy, I was wrong; this tiny one keeps disconnecting to my PS5. I was playing with headphones on; next thing, the sound switches to my TV which has soundbar. And wakes up everyone. Yeah definitely returning this and sticking to my old rusty Avantree Leaf.

Works well enough for what it's supposed to do, though it sometimes disconnects on my Windows 11 PC, unsure if it's an issue with this device or the PC. The unfortunate thing however is that after having owned and been using this for about a year mine completely fell apart. The plastic case around the board just cracked and fell right off, since then it has started having many more audio bugs, so bear in mind the durability is not so great. Anyways, decent enough product that may serve you better than it did me.

Connected easily and immediately to my ps5 as advertised, and connected to my wireless speaker (JBL 7 Flip). Functions great

So far it works great. Exactly what I needed. Have an extra pair of AirPods laying around so they are now my dedicated headphones Update: the first day they worked great and were quick to set up. The next day, they connect but audio isn’t coming through. Sometimes it’ll play audio for 5 seconds and then lose it. Very frustrating

Lo mejor es que solo hay que emparejarlos una vez, la barra de sonido ahora enciende automáticamente cuando prendo la ps5. Muy recomendado para los que juegan en un monitor sin bocinas.

Great device! Works as intended, it maintains the audio quality which is good, if youre plugging the device into your ps5 but cant pair your headphones with it, try plugging the device into your phone or tablet then try pairing it with your headphones, then remove the device from your phone or tablet and then plug it into your ps5, done! Note: turn off your phones Bluetooth before plugging the device into your phone. Also, if you're using the sennheiser momentum 4, you can now adjust the audio to your liking on the sennheiser app and it'll save it's settings within the headphones and it'll work with your ps5 with the avantree c81, reason why I'm saying this is because these headphones don't save it's app settings if they're wired/plugged into your dualsense, only through bluetooth/wirelessly
