This kettle has made my life so much easier in the kitchen, be it our tea time routine or using boiling water for something else, it’s super quick and highly convenient. I was under the impression that 1.7 L could be a tad bit small, but nope! I was wrong, it’s a good size for a family of 4-6 people, and it’s not just good for tea or coffee, it’s extremely helpful for other chores as well. The water boils fairly quickly, I like that the infuser comes out easily which makes cleaning the kettle and the infuser a breeze. I clean the bottom every other day even when I don’t infuse tea leaves. It comes with a brush for cleaning, long handle, easy cleanup. I had connected it with Alexa and it works like a charm, you just give a simple command to Alexa and the water starts to boil on your command withing seconds. The variable temperature presets are spot-on for different teas (green, black, oolong), and the 2-hour keep-warm is good for multiple cups without reboiling. Not having to press a button and being able to operate it remotely is worth all the money. Good size, very well built product, looks good, works even better. Pro tip: I always use filtered water to prevent mineral buildup! Hope this helps!

Govee hit out of the park with this kettle! I drink only tea and this kettle is perfect. I set a routine in Alexa and the smart kettle fires off 15 min prior to waking up. The hold feature is awesome, it holds for 2 hours max, I love having hot water ready and waiting. The auto shut off feature is ideal for safety reasons. It has a range of preset temps for different teas, formula etc. The build quality seems great, I hope it last for many years. Don't hesitate to purchase this kettle, you wont be sorry.

Quite happy with the kettle, the build quality is better than the previous 2 ive gone through, incremental temperature adjustment and on top of that, i dont have to get out of bed to get my hot coffee water ready in the morning. The app is great.

Pros: One of the few kettles that have native smart home integration. Being able to start the kettle from the other room is fantastic. Cons: Govee uses different naming schema and preset naming between this kettle and their other smart gooseneck kettle which makes using both kind of annoying. Sometimes alexa will just give an error when attempting to give a verbal command such as "Alexa set [kettle name] to 212 degrees" yet issuing the command "Alexa turn [kettle name] on" then waiting for her to prompt you for the temperature will work. Also the fact that the unit can't be told to "boil" but must be told to be set to "212 degrees" is a touch annoying. On the brink of being great but just needs a touch more QA and UI development.

Upgraded to our second Govee kettle and loving the smart features. Setting it up was a breeze, and being able to turn it on via Alexa when heading home is a huge plus. It’s great for steeping tea bags directly and keeps water at your exact temperature for 10 minutes. The only drawback is the top seal—opening and closing it constantly for refills makes me a little skeptical about its long-term durability. Still a solid upgrade! Without the infuser the top just click in.

After 6 months of ownership, I’m beyond frustrated by this kettle. There are three issues that makes this a no go. This isn’t a “smart” kettle. It’s a dumb kettle with dumb app, dumb design and dumb support. Cleaning sucks. It’s hard to use. 1) The instructions say to only leave it completely dry to avoid build up. However, due to construction, you cannot physically empty the kettle completely. There will always be water left at the bottom. Unless you use two paper towels to dry it, you quickly get hard water buildup which causes it to boil much slower. Washing soap out is a pain since suds catch on the lip. 2) the lid is a terrible design. If you pour too fast, the lid pops out. The lid easily and frequently brakes into pieces that requires fiddling to reconstruct. 3) you cannot remotely turn the machine on. I wanted hot water in the morning when my alarm went off, but I cannot set it to boil on a schedule. Govee said this was a safety choice, but the kettle auto turns off if there is no water in it. 4) I bought this thinking there was glass and stainless steel. The temperature probe is glued in. The lids have multiple types of plastics and rubbers. 5) the temperature isn’t very accurate. I’ll frequently see +/- 3° F from the stated temp. This isn’t a big deal to me, but is important for those who are buying it for strict temp controls.

It's an OK product. It's not worth the money. I called for more product information, but the people were not very knowledgeable! The guy could not answer, and someone else would call me back. Somebody did call back, but he was as incompetent as the other person, and I was misinformed! With tax, it's almost $100. Total $97.98, and it's not worth it. A few things to point out. I am a designer, although I do not design tea kettles. 1. There is no physical button indicating if the pot is ready to use or not. YOU HAVE TO SLEEP, EAT, AND MAKE LOVE TO THE CELL PHONE APP 24/7 TO KNOW IF THE KETTLE IS READY TO MAKE A CUP OF TEA!! AS I WAS STANDING IN FRONT OF THE POT, I CALLED THEM. THEY SAID THERE IS A BEEP WHEN IT'S READY. AM I SUPPOSED TO STAND IN FRONT OF THE POT WHILE IT'S DONE??? OR CARRY THE CELL PHONE WITH ME IN THE HOUSE? I USUALLY WALK AWAY WHILE IT IS GETTING READY. BOUGHT A CHEAP ELECTRIC KETTLE; THE LIGHT GOES OFF WHEN THE WATER IS READY, SO I KNOW IT'S DONE. I'D HAVE DESIGNED IT WITH SOME KIND OF LIGHT INDICATING THE WATER IS READY, so i don't have to carry the phone around to get a cup of tea. 2. I ASKED ABOUT SCHEDULING IF I NEED TO RESET EVERY DAY; THE GUY SAID SET IT ONCE, THAT'S IT! THE WAY THE APP WAS DESIGNED, I QUESTIONED HIM AGAIN, "ARE YOU ABSOLUTELY SURE THAT IT WILL COME ON EVERY DAY?" OF COURSE, HE WAS WRONG!!! THE NEXT DAY, THIS MORNING, THE SCHEDULE NEVER WORKED. I HAD TO TURN IT ON AGAIN. THUS, YOU MUST SET THE SCHEDULE EVERY DAY TO TURN THE POT ON THE NEXT DAY!!! FOR EVERYDAY SCHEDULING, USUALLY APPS WILL GIVE YOU 7 DAYS TO CHECK MARK, BUT THIS APP DID NOT. I WAS RIGHT! The only reason I am keeping it is that there isn't any other brand with a timer that I know of! Neither aesthetically pleasing nor functioning the way I expected.

Brilliant kettle.only if it had a uk plug . I had to buy a tranformer for it . Don't know why govee doesn't sell this kettle in uk
