I didn't try it. I thought it was a plug in but no.....it also need 25amp dedicated breaker. One thing I could tell you this I send it back and I had the money quick return refund fast

110V 5500 wats is 50 Amps. #6 wire by most code. 220V means #10 wire... Not sure 110V makes sense.

Easy to install
With this thing compatible with a lower voltage electrical outlet, this was surprisingly easy to install in a way that was useful in the small space we set it up for. It was able to keep up with the hot water needs of two people without concern. It can get the water good and hot for one or two functions at a time. However, i imagine for a larger household you might have to install 2

Broke
I would think that right next to the shower it would work just fine. After buying the 10/2 wire, 63 amp breaker and getting it to work, the only way this thing would be hot enough is if it's despensing through a straw. It won't handle 55°C it shorted out and won't turn back on.

Caution, high amperage.
This water heater is high wattage which means it needs high amperage to heat in high, so if your outlet is only 15 amps then this will trip the circuit breaker, it needs more like 20 Amp or higher to work right.
