Was worried it wouldn't work but it did cut through a padlock very quickly!
Breaking a Masterlock No. 3 (for which the key was lost) was a breeze! Well, not a breeze exactly but certainly much less effort than I was expecting based on the other reviews here.

It'll cut a lock - barely
I used it to cut a Master lock (1590D) that seized off an old shed. It did cut eventually, but it required a lot of effort and I'm a pretty big guy. Supposedly the shackle is "hardened steel boron", whatever that is. (Why don't they say, "boron steel" if it's an alloy?)Anyway, it will work, but you might want a different one to make your life easier, if cutting locks is your thing. Especially with longer arms for more leverage.

These are great
These are very sharp and work without a struggle if u need to cut locks or anything that’s too much for a wire cutter these will do the job. No lock can withstand the jaws from these bolt cutters
