The story of Château Peyredoulle begins in the XVIth century. At that time, the Château belonged to the family of the famous Italian philosopher and humanist, Pic de La Mirandole. Located on the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, the estate dominates the Gironde estuary. The vineyard of the Château is suited on a clay and limestone terroir. This soil gives its name to the Château: "Peyredoulle" means "hard rock" in local dialect. During 100 years, the Château was the property of the Lavergne family. They sold the estate in 1685 and the new owner totally changed the aspect of the Château. The Château is consisted of two parts: an old lodge of the XVIth century and great square building of the XVIIth century. Today, Château Peyredoulle covers 21 hectares. The estate is suited of one of the best terroir of its appellation and takes advantage of a very good exposure. This natural conditions and the know-how of his owners allows the production of a great quality wine.
