I can sleep in my bed again 🥲
I bought this to replace a super expensive LG air conditioner that just really never blew cold air- but I installed it outside of the return window... So I was stuck with an 80+ degree room for a couple years. Finally decided to invest in a new AC and it has cooled my room down within 20 minutes and I'm so happy I could cry. I struggle badly with heat intolerance due to my POTS so I rarely spent time in my room, and would sleep in the living room where the main AC is. Blows nice and cold, isn't super loud, and does its job! YAY

Works great
We live in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Bought this for my roommates room to save the central AC. He says it works great & his room is always cold when i go in there. makes odd hissing sound when it kicks on to start cooling but that’s it. his room is small 8x8 & hit with sun most of the day. Important to note he turns it on early in the day- unsure if it cools a super hot room down quickly. I will update my review when we try it.

I love in miami n it gets 80 in house with central ac ... too those posting it stop working in 8 months I believe you bought used instead of just paying full price for new.. its worth buying new ppl... and always know hot states are hot states n can be harder to cool down during peek of honest times of the days ...I bought new paid 180.00 well worth the cost to me and of needed in my 4 bdrm house I might need to get one more I have 2 already one in living room one in my room and this one going in kitchen/ dining area...note 250sqf labeled on these machines to know what u doing to cool ur areas... enjoy the cool air it offers... back in da days they didn't have fan ac central...

Don’t recommend
Installed ac 2 days ago and it seems like it’s having an extremely hard time cooling. Our room is only 12x15 room so no where close to the square footage is supposed to cool off. So this one is either defective or they all don’t work.

Incredible window AC at an affordable price!
This AC is extremely efficient. It works VERY well, is very quiet, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. The addition of the remote control is convenient. What’s interesting is that it doesn’t appear to drain water which is nice because we don’t see it dripping constantly outside. It’s not heavy at all and very easy to install. The only potential issue is there’s styrofoam inside the vent cavity. I am curious to see how this holds up in the long term and whether or not it develops mold growth. Regardless, I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase again.

Was damaged when received
It works fine we got it installed but it arrived damaged. I noticed as soon as I opened the box. Also the remote control doesn’t come w batteries not complaining about that just letting others know u need two triple As for it

This unit is a bit bigger than I expected it's about the size of 8000 BTU unit. Usually had 5000 BTU units in the bedroom and they wouldn't reach the living room that was just outside. This does that with ease! And I think it could actually cool down the main area of house with ease. Wasn't expecting much from an amazon basics brand but I have to say so far it's performing better than most known brands I had in the past (hisense, midea, frigidaire which all lasted me 2-3 seasons with yearly maintenance (cleaning for best performance which all went dead)) Pros: price, performance, easy to clean, can set the temperature you want, dehumidifier option which is very handy in Montreal where summers are very humid, there's a nice remote to set up your modes and open/close on a timer Cons: no wifi option, kinds big unit wish there was a WIFI option or an app to crontrol the unit (I haven't noticed anywhere anything mentionning the this feature, ill edit accordingly if I find a setting) the unit is a bigger than a most 5000 BTU models, sizing on par with the 8000 BTU model I have in the kitchen, had to get a bigger plexiglass for it
