I'm not familiar with the gold monster. I love the bag and it fits the Excalibur II with plenty of room. If it doesn't Amazon does make the returns easy. If you're looking for a bag just do it !! I hope this helps

SAfe for airplane travel?

I don’t know as far as air travel regulations, but physical bag is a soft case and would fare well in check in travel, also you may not be able to ship nickel hydrateium batteries so may have to check if you can haul your rechargeable battery or we need to buy standard batteries at destination. Personally I would rather have a hard case for this Application good luck fellow detector.
