Very comfortable. Much improved design relative to the Topo-Lux model, which didn't hold up to daily use. Very expensive, though, so is worth the money only if it proves to be durable.

I took this on a recent camping trip. the size was great for my needs. it is costly, but worth it. I was well isolated from the cold. One thing I would recommend is to get a air pump or blower as the inflatable bag that is designed to inflate it should be used only in a emergency.

It's very comfortable, but it sleeps cold. There is no way that the R value is 4.7. I slept on it in the mid 40 degree temps and I was cold. I've slept many nights on an xlite and was always warm, but not with this mattress.

Best pad ever

I'm not giving this five stars only because it sleeps really cold like I saw other reviewers say that it does but I didn't really pay attention. Well man I should have. The comfort though is a five star rating. I'm a side sleeper and really picky. I didn't have any leaking or any part of my body touching the ground. It was like sleeping on a cloud. A very very cold cloud. So if you are going to use it in the winter I would recommend putting a closed cell foam pad on top of it.

It’s a bit on the pricy side but it’s worth it to have good sleep in the backcountry! Bought this for backpacking. Is easy to fill using the fill sack and the extra thickness is great! (Not noisy)

The regular size is just wide enough for an average sized woman with wide hips. A broad man will definitely want a wide. Having said that, this is absolutely the most comfy pad I've ever had. It's only slightly heavier than other pads but is SO worth it if you're going to be out for many nights. I think it's even more comfortable than my bed at home. I got it out of the packing and inflated it right away. Then I laid down on it to make sure there weren't any holes in it (I bought it slightly used which I was nervous about but it came with everything a brand new one would have). I almost fell soundly asleep while testing it out. This is an absolute game changer for me! I'll never backpacking again without it!

This pad is quite possibly the most comfortable backpacking pad I have ever tried. I slept on it indoors for a test the first night and was amazed, no pressure points, no soreness and it was super quiet. The fabric is very soft next to skin. So I brought it out to the backyard on a 41 degree night with a 20 degree bag, in merino baselayer top and bottom. I felt the cold coming through after a bit, and it was unbearable by 9pm. I went and got my z lite and put it underneath, and I still felt the cold. Around 3am I gave up and used my 3.2 R value pad (etherlight xt) over the z lite and was finally fine. This 4.7 R-value pad should’ve been toasty warm as I had it fully inflated, but it slept colder than a 3.2 r value pad. This really shows the shortcomings of the newest ASTM standard, it is not a good indicator of real world warmth. Maybe it’s the giant sidewalls, you can see through the pad that the insulation doesn’t reach the ends. I don’t know the science of why this pad sleeps so cold, but unfortunately it is a late spring/summer/early fall pad only. Not good for my trips in the northeast, I’m glad I tested it first before headed into the backcountry. I suggest you do the same.
