BUF_333_16 Foam and Wool Polishing Pad Cleaner, Citrus-Based, 16 fl oz

This stuff works really well -- and easily -- to clean off my various polishing pads between uses. Those polishing pads are actually somewhat expensive, so you really don't want to have to replace them too frequently, and if you use different compounds on them, cleaning them off is really a no brainer. This spray is easy to use, smells great, and works well. You can probably get something similar elsewhere, but again, if you're putting money into the pads, getting a decent cleaner that you know isn't going to ruin your pads isn't a hard decision. Cleaning your pads is a great way to extend the life of them, and to prevent cross-contamination of compounds if you use the pad to apply multiple solutions to your vehicle. I'm glad that Chemical Guys has a product that they recommend and support for cleaning their pads and making them last longer. Definitely worth the money and time!

Works very well, even when hand washing under warm water

This is great for getting various polishes and wax out of pretty much everything in addition to pads. I also use it to wipe away any polish that got unfinished surfaces. Basically when the polish hardens and leaves a white residue behind in hard to reach areas. This will help get rid of that. As far as pads, it says to use a pad cleaning brush along with warm water. I just spray my pads pretty good and use the end of a hose to massage the pad with the water running, wringing it out, and flushing one or two more times. Comes out looking brand new again with no residue.

Works on most pads But had some pads that needed a dish washing soap first to cut all the dried powder that the Chemical Guys cleaner left after the pads were dried the first time.

I cleaned my Compounding and Polishing wool pads (from 3M Perfect-It grey and blue compounds) using this Chemical Guys product. I first ran the spur on each pad at about 2,000 RPM to get rid of the easy pickings. Then I sprayed the Chemical Guys product on each pad and let it sit for about five minutes. Then I used warm water in the sink and a yellow brush to radially brush each pad, but without over-soaking the wool pads. The grey and blue compounding paste(s) disappeared from the pads. I removed excess water by rotating slowly at first, and then at 2,000 RPM. My wool pads are like new again. Highly recommend this product for wool pads!

Outstanding cleaner for foam pads and other buffing pads. It's made my buffing pads last several times longer, and even brought a few back to life that had dried out and were headed to the trash. It only take a spritz or two onto a moistened pad, massage it deep into the foam, and give it a thorough rinse. Lay it out to dry and you're all set. Try it before you throw out those older pads - You might be surprised.

I dont write alot of reviews; only for really outstanding or really bad products. This one is in the outstanding category. Through the years, using buffing pads I have tried all methods of pad cleaning mostly involving soap and water. The problem is that really doesnt get all the residue out and its tedious. Not so with this product. I wet the pad under a faucet, 3 spritz with the cleaner, rub with a soft bristle brush and it ALL comes out and the stuff even has a nice citrus smell. I rinse completely and its like a brand new pad !!! How good you may ask ? Use a yellow or white or orange pad on black single stage (black residue in quantity is a given). Use the method I said above and it all comes out. WOW. In the past I might have thrown those pads out because they never got 100% clean. Not now. Saves me a ton of money and I feel safe re-using the pad. 5 stars Chemical Guys !!!

For the price it’s a very good pad cleaner. All I did was run my pad in warm water, spray on the cleaner, rub it with my hands, squeeze and rinse off. Afterward place my pads back on the polisher and spin to dry. Bam!! Good as new
