This Jura S8 coffee maker is beautiful—I’m very happy with it! The only downside is that it requires frequent drip tray maintenance, and the water tank is a bit small so you’re limited to just a few cups before you need to refill again :/ Overall, though, it’s a great addition to my kitchen.

Junk and way overpriced If you’re looking for a coffee machine, go to Costco website and buy Bosh way better than this three times cheaper

Bought through another retailer, but writing a review here to help Amazon shoppers with an expensive purchase. 2.5 stars. Quality control: For the price, this machine should be perfect. It is not. Out of the box it did not work properly, it would lock up on a "Refill Water Reservoir" error even with a full reservoir. This is apparently a common issue, the Internet is lousy with complaints about the very problem. Jura appears to have attempted to fix this design flaw at least once by changing how the machine determines there is water in the reservoir from a physical magnetic switch in the reservoir itself to an electronic sensor inside the main body of the unit. It doesn't work. Mine is the latter. Ended up having to send the machine back to Jura for repairs after the troubleshooting (all of the troubleshooting online and with the Jura CSR was based on the older physical switch setup) didn't work. They ended up having to replace several components to fix the issue. Since I've had it back, just over 2 months, the issue has not resurfaced. This tells me they have a quality control problem in their manufacturing because, as a simple Google search will show, this is a common problem. Performance: It makes a number of espresso drinks and coffee at the push of a button. In that it is a great device. It does not make it hot enough, though. The documentation will tell you it makes these drinks at the perfect temperature, and maybe it does but by the time it falls into the cool cup and you get to take a sip, it's luke warm. I have to preheat my mugs and cups if I want an acceptable temp. I'm not talking sue-McDonalds-hot, just an acceptable temp. If you like a hot cup of coffee this will disappoint. Espresso drinks are hotter, especially those with steamed milk, but still not hot enough. Maintenance: Cleaning is surprisingly easy. The drip tray holds everything that needs to be cleaned, and it slides easily out of the machine to allow you to clean it. The machine will tell you when you need to empty or clean something. For the complex internal cleaning the touch screen guides you through the steps, so no having to look for the user guide. Would I buy this machine again: No. Not at this price. I have no alternative recommendations because this is the first machine of this type I've owned.
