This lives up to the hype and marketing, delivering some of the fastest write speeds you'll see in an affordable thumb drive. What I also like is that there's no wasted space with utilities or partitions; you pretty much get the entire 256GB for storage. That said, it truly is a thumb drive from a size standpoint -- it's about the size of an average person's thumb. That's not unreasonable historically, but it's big now when you have others making high-storage drives about the size of your thumb NAIL. I couldn't dock it a point for this because it obviously is irrelevant to performance, but it's just something I couldn't help but observe. This obviously could never be used as a plug and stay drive.

I was immediately impressed with the build quality of this device. Solid metal and not cheap plastic, and a very practical slide mechanism to use either USB-A or USB-C. I used in a M1 MacBookAir and was not able to quite reach the 1000Mb/s. Their technical staff were very helpful in sorting this out. Perhaps heat adjusted speeds down. Or my thought is that the M1 chip may have an issue as I have read comments online about problems with other manufacturers high speed USB-C enclosures with M1 Macs. This may require trial use with Silicon Macs but buyers should not worry with the great support provided from this seller.

Lasted 2 months on the dot. it stopped being detected by every PC, Mac, Xbox one/series, PS4 and PS5 pro in the house. Unable to reformat per the troubleshooting with it not being detected as stated. Completely bricked. Was used with an xbox one to load in faster online than the internal HD for our kid, but it bricked outside the return window. :(.
