CanaKit 45W USB-C Power Supply with PD for Raspberry Pi 5 (27W @ 5A)

Update 2:All issues resolved without any fault of the power supply. So it goes up to 5 stars. It works perfectly (even when my other gear doesn’t). :)Update:Well I think there might have been a pi configuration error contributing to the issue I was having. I’m not convinced it is the power supply at this point, so even though I’m hamstrung since getting it, I think this power supply is working exactly as intended.Original:I finally got a dedicated power supply so I could run my Pi5 (16GB) without using power from my MBPs UBC output. But this supply doesn’t seem to meeting the requirements of the Pi. There is some LED blinking on the Pi, but I can’t get the pi to actually boot unless I plug it back in to my laptop. Anyone else having a similar issue? I’ll try to update it I figure it out, but my best guess is that it isn’t negotiating thew handshake, and is operating at an alternative power profile (9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, or 20V/2.25A) instead of the intended 5.1V/5A the pi needs. For now, it is hard to give any star for a product that isn’t able to do anything for me. I’ve had good experiences with CanaKit in the past, so it’s disappointing to have this failure.

This powers my Raspberry Pi 5 really well. I don’t get not enough power warning.

Raspberry Pi5's require 5V/5A to run properly. You could have a 200 watt phone charger, or a large power-bank and odds are, neither-one will power the Raspberry Pi5, because they produce power at 5V/3A, which works with 99% of the gadgets you power on a day-to-day basis, but it does not work with the RPi5. If you want to use the newest Pi, you are have been constrained to buying the Raspberry Pi5 offical charger. This charger breaks the monopoly that Raspberry Pi created and allows you to power a RPi5 without issue. It is custom made for the Pi5, & it supplies 5V/5A. It's also a is a little bigger (more watts) than the proprietary charger, and thats good, because the RPi5 is very finicky and it will limit power output to usb ports very fast, at the slightest hint of an under-powered charger. This charger is a must buy if you want to work with the Pi5.

I decided to upgrade my usb-c power supply on my WIIM PRO and it works well and gives my WIIM a little more reinforces a little more headroom on the sound when streaming my music.
