I suppose that you could however it is not at all like sliced corned beef from a brisket. This product really works better, in my opinion either just sliced when cold for a sandwich, or sliced and then fried for a hot sandwich, or perhaps best yet when combined with your own diced potato, along with perhaps a bit of onion to make a corned beef hash.

1 gram of sugar, this corned beef has very little fat compared to other brands I've tried & is really good for coming out of a can!

What is the shelf life of this?

I did not see a date on the can.But I have had it on the shelf sometimes for about 2 weeks and it sure tasty fresh.A canned product like this has to have a good amount of shelf life.

Pretty good.

I must say that it tastes pretty good. That being said, I didn't really believe all of the negative reviews about opening the can. I had put it down to ineptitude. On the first can, I had trouble. Upon locking in I twisted the key clockwise. I finally bent the key and broke the tab off. I finally just had to basically rip the lid off.
